Controls & Settings

The controls in the game use the bumpers and buttons for the varied actions, and the triggers for speed and direction while the Joysticks are for orientation for the camera and walking / vehicle direction.

Depending on whether you are inside a vehicle or outside the controls will change. The following are the basic controls:

Please Note: While Farming Simulator 15 is available for Windows PC, Microsoft Xbox 360 and Xbox One, and PlayStation 3 and 4, the version that we played to do this guide was the Xbox One edition, so the controls reflect that fact. If you are playing on one of the other versions you should adjust the buttons in your mind accordingly...

Xbox One Edition Controls

The following Control Scheme applies to the Xbox One Edition of Farm Simulator 15.

OUTSIDE

A - Jump

X - Enter a Vehicle

LB + X - Crouch

Left Joystick (Click) - PDA

INSIDE

X - Exit Vehcile

A - Attache Attachment

A - Detach Attachment

Back - Change Tool Selection Front/Back

LB + A - Unfold Sprayer

LB + B - Lower Plow / Lower Sower / Lower Sprayer

LB + X - Turn Plow / Turn on Sower / Turn on Sprayer

LB + Y - Allow Create Field (carves field from grass)

LB + Right Joystick - Raise and Lower Sprayer Height

RB + B - Toggle Lights (Headlights and Backlights)

RB + X - Ridge Marker

RB + Y - Toggle Beacon Lights

LB + RB + X - Toggle Cruise Control

Click Left Joystick - PDA

LB + Left Joystick - Map Mode

Click Right Joystick - Change Camera POV

PDA

From the PDA you can access the following information screens:

Animals - Summary and Stats

Map Views - Growing State of Crops

Overview - Weather, News, and Finance Report

Statistics - Overall Stats for your Session and Game Total Play

Storage - Prices - Your Crop Inventory and the prices it can be sold for at each location.

Vehicle Selection - Map showing the locations of all your Vehicles.

Settings

You access the Settings by tapping the START button.

Timescale

This setting allows you to speed up time, which makes growing your crops a lot easier but, bear in mind that when you have a LOT of fields you need to be quick on setting the time back to real time...

The options you have are: Real Time (x1) / x5 / x15 / x30 / x60 / x120

Mission Frequency

This is where you tell the game how often you want to have Missions offered - you activate the missions through the Job Board by the way...

The options here are: Every 2 Minutes / Every 5 Minutes / No Missions

Plant Growth

This setting allows you to change the speed by which plants grow.

The options are: Off / Slow / Normal / Fast

Plant Withering

This option will cause plants to wither (rot) in the field if they are not harvested in time.

The options are On / Off

Volume

This setting allows you to set the volume by percentage from off to 100%.

Show All Help Icons in the Game

You can set this to On or Off

Map

You can set this to On or Off

Show Icons on Map

You can set this to On or Off

Automatic Help

You can set this to On or Off

Invert Y Axis

You can set this to On or Off

Windows PC Edition Controls

While the Windows Edition uses the standard Keyboard and Mouse as its default control scheme, please bear in mind that the game ALSO supports the use of the standard Microsoft Xbox 360 Gamepad as well! And hey, most serious Farm Simmers prefer to use the standard Xbox 360 Gamepad (that gamepad is a USB device and drivers for it are part of the native Windows driver database)...
