Farming Simulator 15 Walkthrough Guide

Forestry Equipment

Last Updated:
This is one of the more complicated tech sections largely due to the fact that forestry - growing, cutting, and selling tree products - is a complicated business with specialized kit. We break the kit up into its logical sections to make this easier for you to figure out.

Your cutter basically replaces the Chainsaw for the purposes of cutting down the tree as it does so in an automated manner - however - the Cutter does NOT replace the Chainsaw. That is to say you need to keep your Chainsaw and not sell it since you still need to use it for the process of trimming branches. Just saying.

  • Ponsse Scorpion King ($317,000) Maintenance = $750 / day Max Power 213 kW / 290 hp

This type of kit makes use of pallet-loaded saplings - it will allow you to load it with sapling pallets and then easily plant them.

  • Damcon PL-75 ($26,000) Maintenance = $10 / day Req. Power 74 kW / 100 hp

    Stump Cutters

This device type attaches to the tractor and is operated as an accessory.

  • FSI Tech ST 65 T ($5,000) Maintenance = $10 / day Req. Power = 51 kW / 70 hp
  • Jenz HEM 583 Z ($88,000) Maintenance $130 / day Req. Power 184 kW / 250 hp (Chips Stumps)

This unit is used solely for transporting logs. Some other units perform several functions like loading and transporting.

  • Fliegl Timber Runner ($17,000) Maintenance = $10 / day Suitable for Dolly EA
  • Stepa FHL 13 AK ($54,000) Maintenance = $80 / day (Dual-function load and haul)
  • Ponsse Buffalo ($221,000) Maintenance = $350 / day Max Power 213 kW / 290 hp

    Paid DLC Additions

The following pretty awesome new additions to this section were added to the base game as paid DLC...

  • ITRunner Wood Container ($9,000) Maintenance = $7 /day Suitable for ITR 26.33 HD

Bear in mind that you can get into Forestry without needing a million dollars... All that is technically required to start in is a Chainsaw and a loader/hauler combined with one of your existing Tractors.
