The Harvester will probably be among the most expensive pieces of machinery you will own and operate. Both in terms of sticker price and maintenance costs. But they are also a very necessary piece and, fortunately, with the right accessories, will perform several different jobs for you...

Please note that the Harvesters that are included in this section are the universal harvesters that are used for handle the different standard crops. For specialized harvesting - like Beets you need to go to their specific section.

Also note that they are not all self-propelled.

    General Harvesters

These units will work with a number of crop types based on the attachment used. Check the listings in the shop to verify that they can be used for the crop you desire to grow first.

  • Sampo Rosenlew COMIA C6 ($105,000) Maintenance = $480 / day Max Pwr = 136 kW / 185 hp Capacity = 4200 L Suitable for C6 14ft
  • New Holland TC5.90 ($150,000) Maintenance = $520 / day Max Pwr 190 kW / 258 hp Capacity = 6400 L Suitable for Varifeed 18ft
  • Case IH Axial-Flow 7130 ($235,000) Maintenance = $760 / day Max Pwr 302 kW / 410 hp Capacity = 10,570 L Suitable for 3020 35ft

  • New Holland CR10.90 ($430,000) Maintenance = $980 / day Max Pwr 480 kW / 652 hp Capacity = 14,500 L Suitable for Varifeed 41ft

    Chaff Harvesters

These units are used exclusively for harvesting / creating Chaff

    (Attached)

  • Pottinger MEX 5 ($38,000) Maintenance = $20 / day Req Pwr = 110 kW / 150 hp Working Width = 2m

    (Self Propelled)

  • Krone Big X 1100 ($415,000) Maintenance = $810 / day Mex pwr = 761 kW / 1034 hp Suitable for EasyCollect 1053

Notes: You should bear in mind that when your farm is relatively small - say three or four fields, you can easily manage with the starting Harvester, but once you get larger than that you really need to think about either adding a second unit of that original or, better yet, replacing it with a larger capacity and more powerful Harvester. Why?

Primarily because the Harvester can work longer without having to be unloaded, and also because it can maintain a faster harvesting speed.
