Part VI: Asian Town

Thank you for printing this page from www.SuperCheats.com. Remember to come back to check for updates to this guide and much more content for Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff

Last Updated:

Note before you get too far - this is NOT the final District in the game... In fact the game does not actually include ALL of the Districts it is meant to have... Yet. But take heart, the expansion of Quahog is an ordained fact and as the Pyramid of Party shows you, it can expand in any direction.

So a bit of patience and, if you have gotten this far quickly and are now eager for the next Update, try not to think of this as treading water, but rather the opportunity to complete any outstanding quests, Outfits, and the like, to tweak and shape your town the way you really want it, and to save up Coin for the next expansion phase, which we understand will not be cheap.

Moon Idols

If you have been playing the game from the start (10 April) chances are very good that you encountered the Civic Center District and unlocked the first Mission to open up Asian Town while the first Special Event in the game - The Kingdom of the Full Moon Event - was happening.

Due to the invasive nature of that event and its habit of co-opting the core missions and quests into it by adding Moon Idols to the rewards scheme, you may find if you are reaching this point after the Full Moon Event has ended that the various missions, quests, and tasks include Moon Idols as part of the reward when, thanks to that event now being over, you don't actually receive that part of the reward anymore.

You can safely ignore all of the references to the Idols and the event once it is over - though because we are basically lazy we will be leaving them in the guide.

Intro to Asian Town

First, Welcome! You have come very far in your Quahog Journey Grasshopper! You not only succeeded in getting to and unlocking the Civic Center District, adding Joe, Herbert, and with any luck also completing the Full Moon Idol Event, adding Cleveland Brown to your game as well.

But the Civic Center District is old news now - because our focus has turned to Asian Town and all that it can offer us in terms of new Characters, land, and Buildings, not to mention missions, quests, and tasks!

The impetus for unlocking and rebuilding Asian Town seems to be Lois Griffin's drug addiction problems, and specifically her need to obtain a source for natural herbs that will nicely mimic the Ritalin that she can no longer get from her doctor.

Drug addiction is nothing to joke about - in fact the abuse of prescription medicine is now an epidemic in all western society, as all walks of life have discovered that prescription meds offer a much more efficient high than traditional drugs like marijuana and alcohol - so yeah, this is nothing to joke about! Which is probably why Family Guy is joking about it. Yeah!

So hey, give Lois a hand - withdrawal is a ***** man. She NEEDS you!

Odds 'N Ends

The following covers the Odds 'N Ends of opening up and completing a new District in Quest for Stuff - bearing in mind that the Asiantown District is rather unique and special for a number of reasons - some of which will not be as obvious later in the life of the game than they are now, when Asiantown appears to be the final District that you can add - which we assure you it is not.

No, in fact if you reached the Asiantown District (as we did) early in the life of the game, you will essentially have "caught up" with the development path of the game in that you have perhaps too rapidly reached the point that the dev team and its celebrated Wizards of Code are presently at.

That does NOT mean that this is all that there is to the game - it just means that we have reached the demarcation point between the content that has been certified as ready to be added to the game, and the content that is still in development.

Rather than view this as a situation in which you as the player have found yourself forced to wait for new content to be added - a position that you can arguably justify as not very fair considering that there is plenty of evidence already in the game to demonstrate that there is plenty of content that should already be in the game to the extend that being made to wait is, well, not really right or fair...

We are, of course, referring to the fact that despite Asiantown clearly being the last District now available in the game, there is plenty of evidence (found in the In-Game Store) to support the claim that additional and expanded Districts are clearly on the drawing board (if not clearly coming soon) due to the presence of items in the store that include Bob's Funland (with Stewie Griffin), Qahog Cinema (with Carter Pewterschmidt), City Hall (with Mayor Adam West), and Quahog 5 News Broadcasting Center (with Thomas "Tom" Tucker).

While we are not justifying the situation we do think that it is prudent to point out that the willingness of the Wizards who are behind the creation of this game to stick to their guns in terms of demanding that a very high level of quality both in terms of content and presentation guides their hands in both what to release and when to release it.

We would much rather experience the game in the manner that we presently do experience it - as a work in Progress - than to experience it as a sub-par and sloppy presentation. We are just saying...

So with all that in mind rather than viewing this entire situation as something of an inconvenience, we instead choose to see it as an opportunity to better equip ourselves for all that is coming ahead - and when we say that what we mean is, in the most basic of terms, an opportunity to save up Coin and Clams, to better refine and define the structure of our town, and take the opportunity to level-up our cast of Characters (especially the most recently added).

We think that you should share in this impression and approach - bearing in mind that until your new Characters reach a minimum of Level 10 they are hardly of any use to you anyway.

While you are going about firming up your position - and revising building placement and decorations to help and create the Quahog that we just know is inside you and bursting to get out - this first part of this part of the guide addresses the new additions to the game.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

New Character Outfits

Unlocking this new District ALSO has the effect of adding some new Character Outfits to the game - specifically the following:

  • Anime Peter (x8 Hey Cat Keychains / x3 Eyeballs / x8 Sparkles / x3 Headband)

  • Midlife Crisis Lois (x15 Exotic Extract / x15 Exorbitant Hat / x15 Tattoo Ink / x15 Glass of Wine)

Now chances are you have not completed all of the previous Outfits from the earlier Districts - or at least some - for instance in our game we have not completed Pee Pants the Inebriated Hobo Clown (an event costume that we are told WILL be possible to complete soon), or S and M Lois (though we only need 2 Whips for her).

That being the case we intend to follow our own advice and get cracking on completing those (heh, that was a whip joke). You should too!

--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--

New Items

As has been the case with past Districts, unlocking a new one adds some items to the game, including the following that can be obtained via the In-Game Store:

Buildings

  • Awful Person Hattery ($5,000)

  • Dansu Dansu ($7,500)

  • Video Arcade ($10,000)

Characters

  • Connie in We Heal You Long Time ($6,000)

  • Tricia in PF Chinese (Repair)

Decos

  • Asiantown Front Gate ($500)

  • Asiantown Street Lantern ($250)

  • Gay Pride Parade Float ($1,575)

  • Hey Cat Statue ($1,000) - this is a Quest-prompted purchase as well.

  • Koi Pond ($2,000)

  • Rickshaw ($1,000)

  • Solid Gold Emerald (5C)

Obviously you will need to get the land expansions cleared before you can really begin to take advantage of these new objects, structures, and Characters. So hey, get clearing!

--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--

Asiantown District Missions

Now that we have completed offering you the Introduction and an overview of the various new items, objects, structures, and even Characters that are added to the game via unlocking the Asiantown District, we now get to the very meaty and important element - the Missions, Quests, and related Tasks that apply to it.

--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--

One Hot Mama

Each new District has its opening Mission - and for Asian Town, that is THIS one - One Hot Mama. Now if I may depart from the usual path for a moment, Lois (in so far as this might be observed in an animated person) is indeed one hot mama... But therein lies the problem.

You see Family Guy and the Wizards behind it have created an anachronism. Where Lois is clearly a 9 bordering on 10, Peter is a 3 at best and then only if you are a chubby-chaser. So what is Lois doing with Peter?! This my friends is one of the mysteries of our age.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

One Hot Mama Pt. 1

Thanks to Brian Lois has learned a way that Stewie might be found - and of course there is her need for a new source for the recreational drugs she prefers... Complete the following Tasks in order to solve both quandaries:

1. Enter the Asian Town District

2. Build We Heal You Long Time

3. Help Connie Get Stuff

Entering the new District is as simple as tapping on it - so do that now!

As you can see there are four (4) new Land Expansion Zones that we will need to unlock. With any luck you have been following this guide and have created Coin Farms in order to build the required bank to do this in quick order. We certainly have.

Also with any luck you took to heart our advice to invest all of the Clams you have obtained in unlocking the additional Builders (rather than those flashy Buildings that are like Fairy Floss - just saying) and so you HAVE the infrastructure with which to accomplish this goal in short order.

The Land Expansion Details are (from left-to-right):

1. 14h 0m 0s $7,000

2. 14h 0m 0s $7,500

3. 2d 4h 0m 0s $8,000 (Contains PF Chinese - really PF Changs but they could not say that)

4. 2d 0h 0m 0s $8,500

So the total time that is required to completely clear this zone is 2d 4h 0m 0s, and the total cost is $31,000 Coin. If you have a well-established Coin Farm you should already have more than that amount saved up - for example thanks to the Coin Farm we created for the game we are using to write this guide, even moderate daily play allowed us to accumulate $56k over and above what was required to build the various Buildings form the previous District. And we did NOT stint on decorations either!

Note that the longest clearing timer also happens to be the zone that contains PF Changs... No surprise there, since you are meant to get your teeth into Connie BEFORE you clear that area and start rebuilding Quahog's favorite fusion Chinese-American bistro.

Help Connie Get Stuff

To complete adding Connie to your game you need to collect the following resources:

x10 Toad Get with Joe, Mort, Quagmire and from James Woods High.

x10 Hairspray Get from Joe, Lois, and Quahog Day Spa.

x10 Lipstick Get from Peter, Conseula, Lois, Chris, Bonnie, or the Day Spa.

x10 Jewels Get from Peter, Mort, Jerome, Quagmire, Bonnie, or Family Jewels.

Gathering this set of resources is not as difficult as the set for Brian, but nearly so, so you should be feeling like you really accomplished something when you do finally add her to your game!

Note: The Quest System for this new District WILL prompt you to add the various new structures, so you may as well wait for the game to tell you to place them before you place them - unless you want to get a jump on that process, in which case you should probably read ahead to see what is called for...

Completing this very long and arduous journey results in the award of $500 and 350 XP and well done you! Actually I should also point out that in addition to the above award you also unlock and add Connie, 4 new Land Expansion Slots, and Tricia Takanawa when you restore PF Changs.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

One Hot Mama Pt. 2

Now that you have the District opened, land cleared, and essential services restored (for the most part), it is time to start adding the retail that the women of Quahog desperately want and desire! Lois Griffin is willing to give you a hand with this -- because Lois wants a hat!

Build the Awful Person Hattery ($5K Cost + 14h Build Timer) generates $5 + 3 XP/h.

Completing this also awards you with $500 and 350 XP.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

One Hot Mama Pt. 3

Lois is jealous of the young, bouncy Asian school girls... You are going to need to help her react in a positive manner to this perceived threat to her femininity - and what better way to do that than to help her create a new sexy image?

Create Midlife Crisis Lois Outfit

To create and then unlock this new Outfit for Lois you will need to collect the following resources:

  • x15 Exotic Extract

  • x15 Exorbitant Hats

  • x15 Tattoo Inks

  • x15 Glasses of Wine

Well that seems like the ingredients to a wild Saturday night - just saying - so hey, get collecting!

Completing this also awards you with $500 and 350 XP.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Lois does a strip tease - seriously!

Skank it Up (4h) $50 and 30 XP.

Completing this also awards you with $500 and 350 XP.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

One Hot Mama Pt. 5

Lois wants to hose off...

Cool Down (12h) $100 and 65 XP.

Completing this also awards you with $500 and 350 XP.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

One Hot Mama Pt. 6

Lois thinks Stewie might be in the Entertainment DIstrict. This is the final Mission/Quest for this District by the way, as you will unlock the Entertainment District by completing this!

1. Enter the Entertainment DIstrict

2. Clear the Amusement Park Block

Completing this also awards you with 20 Clams and 350 XP.

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Asian

This new Mission series was created to highlight the wide variety of decorations that have been added to the game (and those that existed prior to the new District) with an eye towards encouraging the player to make use of the decorations to make their Quahog a very unique and personal place.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Asian Pt. 1

Lois has decided to help decorate Asiantown - and in this instance she sets out to do that by applying what we can only describe as a westerners view of what an Asian District would look like and would be decorated with... Perhaps not as effective if your goal is a traditionally decorated District...

Place a Hey Cat Status in Asiantown

This is clearly not a traditional element of the Asian culture - but it sure is cute!

Completing this also awards you with $500 and 350 XP.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Asian Pt. 2

With the commercialized version of Asian culture in place, how about placing what is actually a genuine Asian cultural decoration? Clearly Asiantown needs a Koi Pond.

Place a Koi Pond

Completing this also awards you with $500 and 350 XP.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Asian Pt. 3

It appears that everyone wants Chinese Food - and in particular Mayor Adam West wants Chinese Food - or perhaps more accurately the fusion of Chinese-American food that can only be had at PF Changs - err, sorry, we mean PF Chinese - because we cannot say PF Changs because that is a licensed food selling place and they don't have the license... Right?

1. Repaid PF Chinese

2. Fight Tricia

Completing the repair of PF Chinese Restaurant also has the effect of "finding" Asian-American TV correspondent and News Girl Tricia Takanawa! To complete the process of adding Tricia now that you have found and partly-unlocked her, you will need to collect the following resources:

  • x1 Task: Make Meg Pop a Zit

  • x1 Task: Make Rambo Lois do Guerrilla Warfare

  • x1 Task: Make Peter do Road House

  • x1 Task: Make Anime Peter do Super Ultra Mega Fire

If it has not escaped your notice, in order to complete the unlocking of Tricia Takanawa you will ALSO need to complete assembling several Outfits at Al Harringtons - including Rambo Lois and Anime Peter! That is a LOT harder than you probably are thinking all things considered, but it is your duty and your challenge so get to it!

Completing all of the above also rewards you with $500 and 350 XP.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Asian Pt. 4

Well that was a long and arduous task but getting all of those elements together in order to unlock America's favorite Asian Reporter was well worth it!

Now Tricia is reporting on the status of Quahog's Asian Town and how well (or not) it has survived the disaster of Peter and the Chicken.

Report On-Scene (4h) $50 and 30 XP.

Completing this also awards you with $500 and 350 XP.

Takei Love Pt. 1

Peter turns to George Takei's FaceSpace for restaurant advice.

While this may feel like it was something of an overly long District to work through, that is largely due to the fact that we had to wait so long for the next two Districts to open up - but now that they are, be happy! Celebrate! Happy! Happy! Joy! Joy!
