American Independence Day (The 4th of July) Special Event

What is perhaps one of the most widely celebrated holidays in the USA, the 4th of July is more than just the celebration of the birth of the nation that is held out to the world as a grand experiment in democracy - it is also an excuse to tie one on and over-eat! Yay!

According to the official announcement in the game, however, it is:

Happy 4th of July! Or, to those of you not in the United States, happy Friday! Or, to those of you not in the western time zone, happy Saturday! Or happy Thursday! We don't know! All we know is that it's summer in Quahog and drunk uncles are setting off fireworks. Come be dangerous with them! Event ends July 11th.

That nicely sums up the basics - the details though are more complicated. If you have been playing the game for a while now, you know that this new Holiday Event came literally on the heels of the first Special Event in the game - The Kingdom of the Full Moon Event.

This may be a problem for the more advanced players, because they are - thanks to the previous event - likely out of room for placing new Buildings and will be until the next District opens up!

The best advice that we can give you is to put non-essential Buildings in storage until you can open new space via land expansion. Yeah, that sucks, but hey! No one promised life would be easy - or fair!

New Items, Objects, and Structures for this Event

As is often the case for this sort of thing - special events we mean - there are some new items added to the game, including the following:

The following special missions and quests are part of this special Holiday Event:

Jealous Peter

Another new outfit Quest - and a limited time one as well so you will want to focus heavily upon this if you are going to unlock and complete it before the timer runs out!

Jealous Peter Pt. 1

This Quest has you unlocking the new outfit, and to do that you need to collect the following resources:

x15 Bikini Tops

x10 Rollerskating Pony

Completing this will also award you with $100 and 75 XP.

Peter wants to spin...

Spinning Top (4h) $50 and 30 XP.

Completing this will also award you with $100 and 75 XP.

Sexy Skate (8h) $80 and 50 XP.

The first major Quest for the new Holiday Event starts with building the Buildings that are part of the new event!

Completing this will also award you with $100 and 350 XP.

Patriotic Games Pt. 2

Peter and Chris want to play Fat Leapfrog...

Fat Leapfrog (12h) $250 and 165 XP.

Completing this will also award you with $200 and 350 XP.

Patriotic Games Pt. 3

Peter is determined to win the fireworks building competition...

Place 10 Fireworks

Note that you should already have at least four placed for the United Slides of America Quest (and possibly more than that) so all you need to do is get the rest placed to total 10... You do that by purchasing the 4th of July Mystery Boxes.

Completing this will also award you with $600 and 350 XP.

The next major Quest-line for the Holiday Event...

Note that this one requires you to spend coin via the In-Game Store for a special item called the 4th off July Mystery Box (which costs $2K each) from which you obtain the Fireworks. There is no other way.

United Slides of America Pt. 1

Get a FREE Water Park when you collect all 4 Fireworks... This time around that starts with a collection of fireworks. Well of course it does! After all this IS a 4th of July celebration!

These are obtained by purchasing the 4th off July Mystery Box from the In-Game Store - which can reward you with the following:

• 20 Clams

• $3,000 Coin

• White Patriotic Flowers

Once you have obtained at least one of each type you complete this part of the Mission!

Completing this will also award you with $100 and 75 XP.

United Slides of America Pt. 2

With the first part done the second part expands the concept! You get to claim (and place) your FREE Seven Flags Atlantis Park!

Patriotic Animal Collection

Before you embark upon this one you need to remember it is STRICTLY OPTIONAL and it requires you to spend Clams. Clams being of course the premium currency so hey, you really have to decide if that is something you actually want and need...

If you get all three Patriotic Animals and place them you get 75 Clams....

1. Place Democratic Donkey (40C)

2. Place Republican Elephant (75C)

3. Place Balding Eagle (180C)

Bearing in mind that the three of these cost a total of 295 Clams, and with the 75 Clams returned to you for completing this LT Quest, that total drops to 220 Clams... Which is sorta expensive and sorta not... This really is your call as to whether you do it.

Completing this LT Quest will award you with 75 Clams.

Tips, Hints & Tricks

The existence of shortcuts for the special and holiday events is a well-established fact as of the Full Moon Event, and the 4th of July Event follows that rule.

Costume Quest

Unlocking the Costume (for this event that is the Rollerblading Bikini Peter Outfit) is accomplished by obtaining the following resources in the following manner:

x25 Cutoffs

Quagmire: Steal Grease for Lube (1h)

Chris: Eat Deep Fried Snack Cakes (1h)

The Special (ie shortcut) method is:

Get from Shihoopy Carnival Stall (Cost = 75 Clams) has a 1h Timer

x15 Bikini Tops

The normal manner is via Tasks, which include the following:

Lois: Skate Sexily (2h)

Bonny: Skate Sexily (2h)

The Special (ie shortcut) method is:

Get from Traumatized Fish Carnival Stand (Cost = 100 Clams) has a 2h Timer.

x10 Rollerskating Pony (This is the RARE Resource)

The normal manner is via Tasks, which include the following:

Mort: Complain About Kosher Options (4h)

Jerome: Buy Cups for Stacked-Cup Drink (4h)

The Special (ie shortcut) method is:

Get from Giggity-Up Carnival Stand (Cost = 100 Clams) has a 4h Timer.

As long as you did not wait until the very last moment to do this, you should be able to easily obtain all of the resources you need via the quests save for the last resource - the Rollerskating Pony - which is the Rare one - and for that you may actually need to spend the 100 Clams on the Carnival Stand in order to make it happen due to the fact that the Stand is the only guaranteed method for getting them each time the timer completes.

Bear in mind that completing the process of unlocking the Outfits for these events is not necessarily mandatory or even a key element for the event, but it is always a good idea to try very hard to do so. Just saying.
