New Year 2015 Holiday Event

Happy New Year 2015!

Welcome to the First Annual New Year's in Quahog Event - an event that automatically flags and starts as soon as the timer runs out on the Christmas 2014 Holiday Event.

To make the guide as easy to use as we possibly can, we have tried to keep the format and structure as similar as possible between events. So if this all looks very familiar, that is why!

Special Event News

This section is where we would put any Special Event-related news if there was any - and there is! Yesterday (10 Jan) one of the wizards behind the game confirmed in a post to the official boards several very important bits of information. These are:

(a) The Event will run through around 15 January - which means that there is still plenty of time to get things done;

(b) The next major Event will not happen until March. They did not say anything about a Valentine's Day Event but it seems like a safe bet that while that will not be a major Event there should be something even if it is a small one;

(c) District 10 WILL be unlocked in between the two major Events - so some time between 15 January and 1 March!

That is very cool since we desperately need more space for Buildings. But with that in mind you should make it a point to buy any of the special and limited time buildings you will be wanting, then build them and place them in storage until such time as you have room to actually place them in your Quahog, right?

New Year's Mystery Box

Due to the abrupt ending of the Christmas 2014 Holiday Event the wizards who create hte game decided that a nice way to address the issue of leftover event-specific resources such as the Gingerbread Men would be to follow the established pattern of making them convert to Mystery Boxes that may (or may not) as was the case with previous events.

You can exchange your excess leftover G in increments of 10K for the possibility of any of the following:

New Costumes

We're not actually certain that there will be new costumes for this event - but IF there are, HERE is where we will be listing them:

New Characters

The very start of this new holiday event kicked off with a splash-screen notice that the new character of Jillian - and how cool is that?! Wicked Cool!

The following Resource Collections apply to the individual Characters:

Jillian (Brian's Ex-GF) Resources Required:

• x1 Jillian's Apartment

As has been a well-established pattern since the game first launched the other Characters are leveraged to collect the various resources required to add the new character with the exception of the building - which is found in the In-Game Store and built using the builder-system.

New Year's Holiday Missions and Quests

Of course you cannot have a Holiday Event without special Holiday Event Missions and Quests - and when you stop to consider that you were not given a choice as to whether you are going to participate in this event as it flags automagically as soon as the timer fills for the Christmas Event, well, then there you have it!

Chances are if you lost track of the Mission chain you ended up with a very common situation where Jillian is nearly completed save for her Apartment Building... All that needs doing is to tap the New Year's Tower / Times Square Tower and view the animation of the balls dropping. Then tap on Jillian to complete the unlocking!

Closing the Event Notes

The New Year's Event has come to a close HOWEVER do not despair!

Even if you failed to collect the resources that were required for Jillian for her Apartment, as long as you had all of the objects and Buildings in place you can still complete it. Even weeks or months later!

Basically all that you need to do is complete the Ball Drop Event in the Time Square Tower and then place Jillian's Apartment Building, and then complete the full unlock for Jillian!

So well met - have fun - wrap those up - but also remember it is time to move on to District 10!
