How to Format your 3DS

Published by SuperCheats Staff on Sep 2nd 2013
Formatting should be done if you want to clear the 3DS and set it back to factory default settings. This should also be done when you're going to part with your 3DS or if you're getting a pre-owned one.

Important Notes

  • Formatting the system doesn't remove the licenses purchased from the Nintendo eShop.

  • If the 3DS will be given or sold to somebody else, you have to remove the Nintendo eShop account before formatting the System Memory. Follow this link to know how.

What data is lost?

  • All system like friends list, notifications, activity logs

  • System settings data/ configurations

  • Built-in software save data

  • All photos in the system memory

  • All extra data

How to Format
