How to Back Up Save Data

  • This feature requires System menu version should be 6.0.0-0U or higher

  • This allows you to back up dave data from downloadable 3DS software and most Virtual Console games

  • This feature can't back up save data from retail version of games for 3DS, DSiWare and Gameboy Advance

  • You can only create 30 data backups

  • Backup data is stored in your 3DS SD card.




Back up from the Home Menu


(Downloaded software / games only)


  1. In the Home menu, tap on the software you wish to back up then press the triangle icon in the bottom left corner. If you don't see a triangle, this means that you can't backup the software's data from the Home menu.

  2. Select Save-Data Backup




Backup from Data Management



  1. From the Home menu, tap System Settings then select Data Management.

  2. Select Nintendo 3DS.

  3. Select Save Data Backup.

  4. Select Backup then choose the choose the title where you want to backup the data
