What type of Pokemon do I need to beat red in Mt.Silver ?

Strong!! Mainly water, fire, and grass will do the trick since he has this bad boys

Blastoise lv70

So you need to level up to 80 to beat him easily.

Anyone really, if it's a high level Pokemon and had good move sets you should be able to defeat Red no problem.

He has a Pikachu, Charizard, Blastoise, Venusaur, Snorlax, and Espeon.
You could use Groundo, Rock, Electric, Flying, Fighting, and Dark types.

His Pokemon are:
Pikachu lv81
Charizard lv70
Blastoise lv70
Venasuar lv70
Onix lv70
Snorlax lv70
So for the pikachu, I advise a very strong rock type (especially tyranitar or other strong rocks) for charizard, maybe something like a high levelled feraligatr (or blastoise) blastoise, you could use something like a very strong raichu, venasaur could be easy against fire types like a very strong typhlosion(or a charizard) onix will be easy for someone like blastoise or feraligatr again, and a fire should be ok against snorlax. I'm pro at this game. And I beat red a lot of times. He does not have onix.These are the real Pokemon he has:Pikachu lv.81,Espeon lv. 73,Snorlax lv.75, Venasaur lv.77, Charizard lv.77, Blastoise lv.77.

Anyone who says red has a onix is lying. He has a lvl 70ish espeon.
