The final Legendary of the fourth generation, or should we say Mythical Pokemon, is Arceus, the God of the Pokemon Universe. The Sinnoh Legends go that Arceus was born of an egg in the choatic beginning, and it's power came immediately to it once hatched from its egg. After coming into existence, Arceus created Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina to guard Time, Space and Antimatter, respectively, putting Uxie in charge of Knowledge, Mesprit in charge of Emotion, and Azelf in Willpower.
Arceus has the higest base stat total of all Pokemon before Mega Evolution, sitting at a grand total of 720 (120 in every single Stat Category). And since it has stats like these, it can be used in a variety of different ways in competitive play. You can literally use it as a Physical or Special Sweeper, a Revenge Killer, or even a defensive Staller or Wall.
#493 - Arceus: If you have read all the other Legendary Pokemon up to this point, you know that Mythical Pokemon can only be obtained by a Pokemon Event or Pokemon Item Event. This is also true for the Pokemon God, who has only been released by Events. There was coding back in Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum to obtain Arceus in a place called the Hall of Origin that sat well above Sky Pillar; however, the Azure Flute Event that gave you access to this area was never, in fact, released.
