Legends and Mythicals

Among the vast number of Pokemon and Mega Evolutions are Legendary Pokemon, incredibly rare and powerful Pokemon. Many of these Legendary Beasts are prominently featured in Games and Plots, often receiving the face or cover of the mainstream game they belong to and even a movie about themselves, along with the overall myths of the Pokemon World.

Up until the fifth generation Pokemon, all Legendary Pokemon were considered as such; however, this has since be clarified in greater detail. Not all Legendary Pokemon are Legendary, but actually Mythical Pokemon.

Mythical Pokemon are as closely related to Legendary Pokemon as any other set of Pokemon, but they are still a completely separate group of Pokemon. These Pokemon are seen as even more rare than Legendary Pokemon, still with the same power, and are questioned in the Pokemon World of their very existence. Most of these Pokemon were and still are Event Exclusive Pokemon; actually, all of them are except Deoxys (only recently obtainable in-game) have this exclusiveness. Since they are considered to be Mythical Pokemon and not Legendary, these Pokemon are not needed to be seen in the in-game Pokedex in order for it to be considered complete.

But even though these sixteen Pokemon are considered Mythical, they are ultimately still grouped with the other 38 Legendary Pokemon as such, and are still preceived as god-like creatures. All of these Pokemon are extremely difficult to obtain: whether waiting for the event they are releasded in, or trying to capture them in-game with increasingly difficult capture rate. There are only 54 of these Pokemon out of the 721 National Pokedex, and there stats prove the superiority.

Legendary Statistical Average

As this colorful graph shows, Legendary Pokemon are superior better than almost all Pokemon, only being contested by the Pseudo-Legendary Pokemon [Pokemon that have similar stats of Legends (Dragonite, Tyranitar, Salamence, Metagross, Hydreigon, and Goodra) but are not considered as such] and some Mega Evolutions (and some Legendary Pokemon actually have Mega Evolutions with even more power).

Legendary Pokemon rank higher in just about ever category, impressively so over the average fully evolved Pokemon. There really is no contest, and this gives all the justification needed to show just how great these Pokemon outclass the rest of the Pokemon world in power (and rarity).

But even with all these facts, the Pokemon Company has obviously made obtaining all the Legendary Pokemon easier as time as had passed. In both Pokemon Black 2 and White 2, along with Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, there has been more Legendary Pokemon obtainable in each game. There has also been a number more of events to obtain these Pokemon, which is as easy to obtain as logging onto your game and connecting to Wi-Fi and claming the event.

If your an older Pokemon Player, you should remember just how difficult it was to obtain all Legendary Pokemon, especially in the first two generations. Celebi and Mew were basically just myths, and Mewtwo was the most difficult Pokemon ever to catch. And let's not forget ALL the cables and difficulties apart of Trading to obtain the rest of the Legendary Pokemon from friends. Yes, the company had to able to make things a little less of hassle for the next generation, but it wasn't anywhere near the silver platter that there is nowadays with these supposed "rare" Legendary Pokemon.
