The Fourth Generation, astonishingly enough, released a whopping grand total of fourteen Legendary and Mythical Pokemon. We already covered the two Legendary Trios, so now it's time to discuss the two Legendary Duos released in generation. We'll begin with Cresselia and Darkrai, the Lunar Duo.
Since they are called the Lunar Duo, you probably already are aware that each of these Pokemon have to do with the moon. Darkrai, another Mythical Pokemon, symbolizes the new moon, when the world is at its darkest and the bringer of nightmares. Cresselia, a Legendary Pokemon, on the other hand represents the cresent moon, full of hope and peaceful dreaming.
And the though the two, like just about every other trio or duo, don't really care for each other, they made their debuts in the anime series separately. Darkrai got a movie like many of the other Mythical Pokemon while Cresselia got an episode, yet the two did square off shortly in said episode.
Darkrai is incredible in competitive play, being a speedy special sweeper, really unlike any other due to its exclusive Dark Void move. Cresselia though is a more defensive wizard, but can use a few moves and tricks to try to get on Darkrai's level.
#488 - Cresselia: Unlike Darkrai, Cresselia can atually be captured in-game, and in quite a few Games as well. It could be found in all three Sinnoh Games roaming the region after you find it on Full Moon Island. It can also be found on the Marvelous Bridge in both Black 2 and White 2, as well as in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire on Crescent Isle when soaring through the sky.
#491 - Darkrai: Since it is a Mythical Pokemon, Darkrai is only obtainable by a Pokemon Event. However, it was able to be captured in-game on New Moon Island in Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum if you received the Membership Card Event.
