Useful Trainers

Along with the number of Move Tutors scattered throughout The Alola Region, there are also a number of other useful characters that are willing to help you with certain aspects of your Pokemon. This can be as small as something as given them a nickname, or something as important to their IVs.

Useful Characters

Name Rater: Within the Tourist Bureau in Heahea City is an elderly man that has the ability to change or give your Pokemon a nickname. However, he is unable to give a moniker to Pokemon obtained via Trade or Events.

Masseuse: Within the Konikoni City market, their is a young lady who will be happy to give your Pokemon the special Lomi Lomi Massage. This boosts a Pokemon's happiness, but can only be done once per day.

Happiness Checker: Also within th Konikoni Market is a young man that will tell you just how happy each of your Pokemon are. This sort of thing is crucial when evolving Pokemon based on happy they are.

Effort Values Checker: Despite the fact that a player now has the ability to check a Pokemon EVs on their Pokemon's Status Screen, there is still a woman within the Battle Royal Dome that will check to see if your Pokemon has Maxed EVs. If they do, she will give that Pokemon an Effort Ribbon.

Hidden Power Checker: Within the Nursery in Paniola Ranch, their is a girl who will give you TM Hidden Power. Should you visit her anytime after this, she will tell you what typing of Hidden Power your Pokemon will learn.

IV Judge: Within The Battle Tree area is a trainer that will give you insight on just how good your Pokemon IVs are. However, he will not tell you this until after you have hatched at least twenty Eggs.
