Added:

Pokemon Refresh is the successor concept to Pokemon Amie, introduced back in the Sixth Generation, which allows for a player to interact and take Care of their Pokemon to receive certain Bonuses. Instead of having mini game and facial recognition like in Pokemon Amie, Pokemon Refresh is more straightforward with players feeding, petting and cleaning their Pokemon.

Like before, some Pokemon like being petted in certain areas, some don't like being petted at all, and some Pokemon have areas that will harm them if petted. Pokemon Refresh can be accessed by the lower screen menu or by clicking the Y Button after Battle. By caring for you Pokemon after battle, done in a variety of ways, your Pokemon will grow in happiness and can even be healed without using Healing Items.

There are three Stats that are measured by five icons the determine how trained your Pokemon are in that given area: Affection, Fullness, Enjoyment. Over Time, Enjoyment and Fullness will decrease until fed and cleaned, but Affection will never be lowered as long as you keep the Pokemon as one of your own. To increase a Pokemon's Affection, merely take Care of it in a variety of ways, such as feeding, petting, and cleaning.

Each Time you do this, the Stats will increase a small amount, in stages over time. Each small amount is denoted by smaller hearts, while each stage of affection is shown through large hearts. 1 Small Heart is required for 1 Large Heart, 50 Small Hearts for 2 Large Hearts, 100 Small Hearts for 3 Large Hearts, 150 Small Hearts for 4 Large Hearts, and 250 Small Hearts for Five Large Hearts.

As your Pokemon's Affection Level grows overall, you will earn given benefits in Battle with those Pokemon. If you're Pokemon has Two Large Affection Hearts, you're Pokemon will earn 20% more experience in battle and will have different messages when waiting for instructions. If you're Pokemon has Three Large Affection Hearts, you're Pokemon may survive a knockout hit with one HP left and will have different texts when it is sent into battle. If you're Pokemon has Four Large Affection Hearts, it may evade the opponent's attack, may cure itself of status conditions, and may look slightly back at the start of thee battle. And if you're Pokemon has 5 Large Affection Hearts, it has a higher chance of landing Critical Hits.
