Unlike older Pokemon Games, the D-Pad can no longer be used to move a character. Instead, a player will only be able to move their character in-game by using the Circle Pad. It isn't the worst thing in the world, but players that have been using a D-Pad since the Gameboy will have to adjust to this New concept. However, it does give easier access to moving in a diagonal motion when moving and surfing.
