Best Breeding Combinations

Breeding is a mid to late game mechanic that all players must take advantage of. This is the only reliable method of obtaining rare and highly sought-after pals without hunting them in the wild and potentially wasting spheres in attempting to capture them. We have covered the mechanics and various requirements needed to successfully breed various Pals right in your home base in our Breeding System Guide. In this article, we will cover some of the best pals that you can obtain through breeding.

Breeding in the game has hundreds and hundreds of combinations so it's impossible for me to keep track of them on my own. I have used Palpedia to find these combinations and just compiled some of the best and easy combinations that you should prioritize or pals to get first. It's a really helpful site to find breeding combinations so kudos to them for maintaining such an accessible and easy to use database.

Best Pal to Breed (Overall)

Anubis

For this category, we will be choosing Anubis. You can find a LV47 overworld boss in the desert biome but it is possible for you to get Anubis through Breeding using reasonably easier-to-capture parents. Anubis is a top-tier combatant and base pal. Not only that, you can use Anubis as one of the parents for getting some of the best late-game pals you can only encounter in high-level areas. This is why getting some Anubis for base operations and breeding should be one of your priority tasks when you start your own breeding farm.

Disclaimer: These are NOT ALL possible parents for this pal. I only added the ones that are relatively easy to acquire.

Pals for Baking Cake

As we have explained in our Breeding System Guide, one of the requirements for two pals to breed is to have a continuous supply of Cake.

To bake a cake, you'll need Flour, Berries, Eggs, Milk, and Honey. Flour can be obtained by placing Wheat to the Flour Mill while Berries are quite common but Egg, Milk, and Honey can be quite challenging to keep a sustainable supply of. You can buy these from merchants but having the right pals in your base to produce them is the more practical and economical way of doing this.

The pals below need to be assigned to a Ranch to enable them to produce their respective products. Having at least two Ranches hosting at least two of each can make your supply of these ingredients skyrocket.

  • Chikipi : Egg
  • Mozzarina : Milk
  • Beegarde : Honey

Chikipi is a very common pal so you don't need to bother Breeding them. Mozzarina and Beegarde can be captured but if you want to breed them instead, here are some combinations that you can try:

Disclaimer: These are NOT ALL possible parents for these pals. I only added the ones that are relatively easy to acquire.

Of course, to bake cake faster, you'll need Pals with high Kindling. You can refer to the Pals below who have Kindling LV3 that can speed up the baking process.

Best Kindling Pals to Breed

Kindling is necessary for cooking/baking and producing ingots. These are core mechanics in the game that are part of ensuring that your base is self-sufficient. We have chosen the Pals below since you can breed them and they offer more to the table. Jormuntide Ignis is the only Pal with LV4 Kindling at the moment but unfortunately, there's no way to hatch it using other Pal parents (you can only get one by having two Jormuntide Ignis as parents).

Disclaimer: These are NOT ALL possible parents for these pals. I only added the ones that are relatively easy to acquire or with parents that you can breed from the ones we listed here.

Faleris

Faleris is our top choice here because it has LV3 Transporting and LV3 Kindling. It is the second fastest flying Mount next to Jetragon. Having it as your primary flying mount can take you to places faster while leaving one in your base will allow you to cook/bake or keep your furnace burning faster and help out with the transporting of goods to boot. The only downside is that the parent options are very limited, as you can see below.

Guide Image

Vanwyrm + Anubis

Ragnahawk

Ragnahawk also has LV3 Transporting and LV3 Kindling but it is not as fast as Faleris (just decent enough). You can consider getting a Ragnahawk instead since there are more Breeding options for you to get this Pal mid-game.

Blazehowl

This Pal has LV3 kindling and LV2 logging. If you don't have trees growing in your base or don't have a logging site built, this Pal will be exclusively firing up your furnaces, stove, and other kindling structures. This Pal is fairly easy to breed as well so you can attempt hatching one quite early.

Best Pals to Breed for Combat

These pals have great partner skills that can give you an edge in combat.

Anubis

(See above)

Lyleen

Lyleen can heal the player greatly in combat when its partner skill is used. This is quite valuable especially when fighting tougher late-game bosses. Not only that, this Pal has Planting LV4, so leaving it at your base can do wonders in cultivating your crops faster. With LV3 Handiwork, LV3 Medicine Production, and LV2 Gathering, it can lend a hand to your other pals after it's done seeding your crop plots.

Guide Image

Lyleen can be captured in a high-level Sanctuary but we included it in this list because you can actually hatch it. The parents required for her are somewhat in the mid-game category but each of them can be hatched from early-game parents. Please check out the combinations below.

Grizzbolt

The very first boss pal you'll encounter, and one of the poster Pals of the game. This Pal can be mounted and allow you to use an equally badass minigun as its partner skill. It has great levels for Generating Electricity and Transporting, as well as decent Handiwork and Lumbering levels if you leave it as a worker back in your base.

Guide Image

Similar to Lyleen, this Pal can be captured from a Sanctuary. Though it is a mid-level Sanctuary to the south of the map, you can still hatch it from a specific pair of parents. Not only that, Grizzbolt is also one of the ideal parents for the other best pals of the game, as you'll probably notice in this article.

Orserk

This is also one of the high-level pals that you can only capture in the northern Sanctuary. This Dragon-Electric pal has Electricity LV4 which can effectively charge your generator for your late-game electric-dependent structures. It also has LV3 Transporting and LV2 Handiwork to help around the base when it's not powering up your generator.

Guide Image

Not only that, it has a high attack stat exceeding 900 points at LV50 without the ATK boosting Passives and compared to the usual 500-700 of other pals, making it one of the best DPS pals in the game.

Parent 1 + Parent 2
Grizzbolt + Relaxaurus

Grizzbolt (Parent 1)

Relaxaurus (Parent 2)

Relaxaurus can be a reliable combat pal once you have unlocked its Missile Launcher gear. However, it requires Technology LV44 which is quite late in the game so I didn't include it here as a priority pal to breed immediately. Some of the Breeding combos for this Pal require either high level or rare pals. Thankfully, they can be captured in the wild in a relatively accessible area of the game as shown below.

Guide Image

However, if you want some great Passives to pass on to an Orserk, you'll need to breed a Relaxaurus from parents with good passives. Here are some Breeding combinations for this pal.

Grizzbolt + Faleris
Grizzbolt + Pyrin
Grizzbolt + Ragnahawk
Mammorest + Lyleen
Lyleen + Elizabee
Elizabee + Beakon
Helzephyr + Ragnahawk

Jormuntide

This pal has two alpha boss locations but you can save yourself the trouble and breed it instead since it can be obtained from relatively mid-level parents. It only has Watering LV4 but that should be enough to easily keep several crop fields in your base running, along with running the Mill to convert wheat to flour (which is needed for baking Cake for the Breeding procedure).

Warsect

This pal has a very high defense in itself and can also boost the player's defense and apply fire damage to the player's attacks when fighting side by side. It's a reliable combat pal with considerably high survivability. You can capture a LV30 alpha version in the Sealed Realm of the Stalwart Field dungeon, in a mid-level part of the map, or capture higher-level versions from the Sanctuary to the northwest. Thankfully, there are some easy-to-obtain pals that you can use as parents to get this high-tier combat pal.

Astegon

Similar to Warsect, this flying tank has excellent defense which can be quite useful in combat. It also has Mining LV4 and boosts the player's damage to ores while mounted. You can only capture this pal in the high-level Sanctuary to the northeast of the map and unfortunately, some of its parent combinations are either high level or need to be hatched via Breeding first.

Shadowbeak

One of the late-game pals that you can only find in the wild in the high-level Sanctuary in the northeastern part of the map. This dark-element Pal is a very capable combat pal but not really that useful in a base. Furthermore, Shadowbeak is a griffin-like creature which makes it a really great ground and flying Mount, with relatively fast speed. You can't go wrong having this pal as one of your party members.

Guide Image

Unfortunately, there's only one Breeding combo using different pal parents to produce Shadowbeak.

Galeclaw

Combat-wise, Galeclaw can't hold itself against higher tier opponents. However, you don't need to take it out of its sphere; just bringing it in combat (with its Saddle crafted) gives you so much mobility in combat, especially when you're fighting in large open-areas. Simply double jumping allows you to deploy this fast glider pal while having the ability to shoot or even reload. This mobility enables you to close the distance or gain distance as needed very quickly without spending too much time or stamina.

Mozzanda

This large pal is combat-capable mid-game which can use a powerful grenade launcher as its partner skill. You can craft its gear at Technology LV24, which is quite accessible for almost all players. Not only that, it has four work skills; Transport LV3 will allow it to move items produced on your base to storage boxes, while Planting, Handiwork, and Lumbering (all at LV2) is enough for it to efficiently help around the base. It can also be used as one of the regular Breeding parents to get some of the high-level pals in the game.

Mozzanda Lux

This is the electric variant of Mossanda, having an almost identical set of work skills. Instead of Planting however, it has Electricity LV2 which can help power up your generator reliably. Mossanda Lux has its own grenade launcher which can be unlocked at Technology LV25 (just one level after Mossanda) so getting this Pal's gear or Mossanda is up to you.

Best Pals to Breed for Base Operations

These pals possess several good level work suitabilities, making them ideal for a variety of work in your base. This makes them quite busy and capable, allowing you to be more flexible with how you deploy your other pals in the base or when you're trying to make up for pals that are taken off the workforce to breed or graze. Your early and mid-game all-rounders can only go so far. The following pals have several LV3 suitabilities (or better) which makes them even more efficient at their jobs.

We have already covered the combinations for the following pals also belonging to this category above.

  • Lyleen
  • Grizzbolt
  • Ragnahawk
  • Faleris
  • Blaze Howl
  • Astegon
  • Jormuntide
  • Mossanda
  • Mossanda Lux

Verdash

This pal has five different work suitabilities with decent levels. With Gathering and Handiwork LV3, it can help with the production of products from your assembly lines and harvesting crops. With Planting, Lumbering, and Transporting all at LV2, it can also provide assistance to other tasks in your base at decent speeds. Not only that, you can practically get this pal through Breeding using common pals as parents, as listed below.

Wumpo

Wumpo increases the player's carrying capacity. Not only that, it has Transporting LV4 which allows it to effectively move stuff around your base with ease. When not utilizing its Lumbering LV3 skill, it can help with the production line with Handiwork LV2 and if you have fridge or cooler, it can help with keeping your food from spoiling too.

Wixen

This pal has good handiwork, perfect to speed up the production of your workbenches with Handiwork 3, transport goods at LV2, and even help fire up your stove and furnaces when there's nothing else to do. Wixens in the wild are found in the high-level, hot-temperature volcano area so getting them early via Breeding is highly recommended.

Best Pals to Breed for Exploration

These are some of the best Mounts in the game and getting them will make exploration and terrain traversal a lot easier for you.

Faleris

Fenglope

This ground Mount Pal has respectable speed and allows you to double-jump while traversing, making it easy to cover distances and terrain. Unfortunately, it doesn't have good work skills so you can't really use it as a base pal. The good thing however, is that you can unlock its Saddle at Technology LV26.
