Aside from the default schematics that you craft from your workbenches, it is possible to obtain higher-rarity versions of weapons and armor with better stats in the game. The highest rarity that you can get are Legendary and you can only craft them from Legendary Schematics. In this guide, we will discuss all possible Legendary Schematics in the game, where to find them, and how to reliably farm for them.

Legendary Weapon Schematics

Currently, there are 6 Legendary Weapons and 11 Legendary Armors in the game. You can only get them from defeating specific alpha pals. They have incredibly low drop rates so you might need to farm the same alpha pals over and over again until you obtain these schematics. In this section, we will cover the individual possible drop locations of these weapon schematics, their crafting materials, and comparison to the regular versions.

Legendary Weapon Schematics Location

Legendary Schematic Alpha Pal Coordinates
Legendary Old Bow Kingpaca (Level 23) 50, -460
Legendary Crossbow Bushi (Level 23) -116, -490

Legendary Weapons Crafting Materials and Stat Comparison

Legendary weapons will have a significantly higher amount of materials needed. This is also almost the same cost when repairing them.

Tips and Tricks for Increasing your Chances

Here are some tips and tricks that may help you with farming for legendary schematics.

Adjust World Settings

You can consider adjusting the following settings to increase your chances.

  • Pal Appearance Rate: The default is 1 but setting it to 2 or 3 will allow you to fight two and up to three copies of the same boss at once. This is quite challenging for higher-level legendary pals that are incredibly tough (like Jetragon and Frostallion) so use this setting as necessary.
  • Pal Capture Rate: Capturing alpha pals is the same as defeating them and will yield the same drops/loot so might as well, try to capture them per attempt. This will also be useful to another trick we will share below.
  • Damage to Pals Multiplier: This is somewhat cheating but if you just want to defeat these alpha pals easily for their loot, this will help you save ammo and resources per attempt.

The following settings are geared towards player survival and quality of life during your alpha pal hunting runs:

  • Player Auto Health Regeneration: Increase the value to quickly regenerate HP which is quite beneficial during combat.
  • Damage to Player Multiplier: Set this below 1 to receive less damage from any damage source.
  • Death Penalty: No Drops so you don't have to worry about dropping your items upon death.
  • Dropped Items Multiplier: Increases the number of drops by captured or defeated pals. This doesn't increase the actual drop rate; however, even if you don't get the schematics, you can still get more normal drops per run. Additional copies of a legendary schematic can still be sold since you only need one to craft the legendary weapon or armor.

Butcher Alpha Pals

This process is somewhat gruesome but effective nonetheless. Butchered pals will drop the items that they normally drop if you capture or defeat them in the wild. This basically gives you additional chances of possibly getting the legendary schematic as a drop.

Guide Image

To do this, you need to do the following:

  1. Craft the Meat Cleaver (Technology LV12) and equip it.
  2. Add the pal that you want to butcher in your party and summon it.
  3. Open the radial menu (press [4] for the PC) then select Butcher.
