.Inventory management is a thing in Palworld. You can only carry so much and when you factor in the stuff that you need to carry around all the time like weapons, spheres, ammo, or food to name a few, you only have a few more carrying capacity to spare for other loot. In this page, we will discuss the various solutions or techniques to maximize your carrying capacity in the game.
Here are some tips using various game mechanics on how to overcome getting over encumbered all the time.
This is not really a trick but something worth noting. As your character levels up, you'll gain stat points. You can then allot these stat points to any of the five stats of the characters as listed below:
What you need to level up is Weight, which will permanently increase your character's base carry capacity. Every point assigned to this stat increases your character's carry capacity by 50kg. So if you've allotted 10 points, that means you'll have a +500kg capacity added to your character's limit.
However, some players may find this trifling since stat points are quite valuable in the game. For every level up, you'll only get 1 Skill Point so using the example above, it translates to getting 10 levels in the game only to be assigned to carrying capacity. Certain stats, like Attack for example, are sought after in the late game when you're already trying to fight and capture Legendary Pals and bosses. There's a method to "respec" your stat points later in the game but if you're planning for the late-game offensive build, you might consider not using this method at all.
The next tip is to equip pals that temporarily increase your carrying capacity by just having them in the party. Their boost to carrying capacity stack as well so you can have the same exact pal species or combination of different pals with the same effect boosting your max carrying capacity. This is a versatile solution since you don't really need to have high carrying capacity all the time. The value of your temporary carrying capacity will have a blue text in the capacity gauge in the middle of the screen as shown below:

Here is a list of all pals in the game that increases your carrying capacity. Only Cattiva and Lunarris require no pal gear to enable their effects; simply putting them in your party will increase your carrying capacity.

The remaining pals on the list will require you to craft their respective saddles first before you can activate their carrying capacity bonuses but at least each of them have significant capacity bonuses.

| Pal | Capacity Boost | Pal Gear Required |
|---|---|---|
| No.2 Cattiva | +50 | None |
| No.63 Lunaris | +80 | None |
| No. 86 Broncherry | +100 | Broncherry Saddle (Tech LV 20) |

This is not a method of increasing the carrying capacity per se but a useful method to get around it. This cool and useful gadget can help you traverse terrains with different elevations in case you don't have a flying Mount yet. In case you're over encumbered (overloaded) with stuff, (which will happen usually when moving bases), you can use the grappling gun to cover a large distance quickly even when you exceed your carrying limit.

There are four grappling guns that you can craft. Better versions of the grappling gun will have quicker reloading times which will allow you to use them more frequently. Grappling guns don't need to be repaired nor use any type of ammo so just fire away.
| Technology Level | Grappling Gun | Materials |
|---|---|---|
| 12 | Grappling Gun | Fiber x30, Ingot x10, Paldium Fragment x10, Ancient Civilization Parts x1 |
| 17 | Mega Grappling Gun | Fiber x50, Ingot x20, Paldium Fragment x20, Ancient Civilization Parts x4 |
| 32 | Giga Grappling Gun | Fiber x80, Ingot x30, Paldium Fragment x30, Ancient Civilization Parts x8 |
| 47 | Hyper Grappling Gun | Paldium Fragment x40, Ancient Civilization Parts x15, Carbon Fiber x20, Polymer x20, Refined Ingot x30 |
In this section, we will mention some of the most popular situations when you'll need higher carrying capacity.
You can build up to three separate bases in the game and it is only natural to eventually find the need to dismantle one of your bases (usually the very first base) so you can relocate to better base locations. When dismantling your bases, storage boxes and their contents are left behind so it will be a daunting task retrieving your stuff if your dismantled base is far from teleport statues.
The majority of players will often settle at least one of their "mining bases" in a spot where there are a ton of mining nodes. These nodes respawn over time so as long as you don't block their respawn points with structures, simply putting storage boxes, mining and transport pals there will allow you to automatically get valuable resources like ore and coal without doing manual labor yourself. Here is an example of a good mining base location.

Sometimes, it's not viable to create bases on certain ore deposits or maybe you have three functioning bases already and you still want to farm for other resources like High Quality Pal Oil that you can get from capturing or killing certain large Pals. Having a higher carrying capacity allows you to carry more items at any given time, making your hunting and mining trips very efficient.

Dungeons in the game also contain valuable mining nodes such as coal, ore, and sulfur. Not only that, dungeons normally have a lot of enemies, pals and chests that you can loot from. If you have a low carrying capacity, you won't be able to get the most out of your dungeon trip since you might need to drop some stuff in order to keep some of the more valuable ones. That or you'll be forced to carry less stuff.
