Case #2: The Violin Situation

Walkthrough

After finding Purugly and Magnemite, Rehearsal at the GNN will take place. However, during it, an accident will occur with the Yanma Cameras running into each other. As a result, Carina's violin will be completely destroyed. Not understanding how this could've occurred, Tim and Pikachu will be quickly put on the Case. In order to Find out how this happened, you will need to investigate by talking to anyone and everyone you can. As you do, you will collect various Cue Sheets for the rehearsal that belong to a number of staff members. After collecting all of them, you will learn that someone switched the real ones, which is why the Yanma collided with one another.

After learning this, to thicken the Plot further, you will learn from both Carina and Kricketune that her prized violin wasn't the one that was destroyed. Apparently, Carina's violin had a special message inscribed within it; however, the one that was destroyed didn't. With this information, you learn that her violin must've been switched as well! And because of this, you will need to investigate in order to figure out exactly when the violin was switched. By obtaining even more Testimonies, you will discover that the violin had to be switched after Carina's original performance yet still before Pikachu was carrying it. With this in mind, it's clear the violin was switched during preparations for the Rehearsal.

Now that you know that both the Cue Sheets and Carina's Violin were switched just before the Rehearsal took place, it is time to Find out who the culprit is! In order to do this, you will have to collect the alibis for basically everyone involved. As you do, one alibi will stick out among the others, the one from none other than Max Warhol. He will claim he was in the dressing room when the violin and cue sheets were switched, and Mimikyu will confirm this by saying it heard a voice coming from said dressing room when it knocked on the door to it.

However, you will learn the Carina's violin is actually worth a lot of money, and it just so happens Max is having some financial trouble. On top of this, you should recall how Chatot is able to mimic the voices it hears. After realizing this, you can confirm that Chatot was the one in the dressing room, not Max, at the time when Mimikyu came around and heard the voice, which was Chatot all along. Clearly, this makes Max the culprit for the crime at hand. The police will immediately be called, and Max will be taken away.
