Case #2: Rescue Buneary

Walkthrough

After fixing the Mural Smeargle created and further determining that Charizard was influenced by the Substance known as R when it suddenly went wild during the parade at Fine Park, Alakazam will mention how Pikachu was there once before with another person. The thought quickly becomes that said individual was Harry, but we need proof to confirm this. After investigating further and receiving more testimonial evidence, you will learn that said individual was seen with a Buneary back by the old Ferris Wheel.

By heading to the Ferris Wheel, you will learn that Buneary is somehow trapped upon it. Once you look into the matter, it will appear as though Joltik is responsible for this. Apparently, they have since gotten into the control panel of the ride, evident by the Wires found within their mouths. In order to Rescue Buneary, you will need said wires so you can power up the Ferris Wheel. Unfortunately, the Joltik will scatter when you approach them, causing you to Find each of them in order to obtain the wires each of them has. One Joltik will be found under the bench, another within the cannon, the third actually on Pikachu, and the final on one of the walls.

After obtaining all the Wires from Joltik, you will need to properly place them back in the control panel to the Ferris Wheel. After doing so, Heliolisk, a former staff member of Fine Park that was in charge of the electronics, will attempt to power up the Ferris Wheel. It appears as though you have fixed it at first, but the fuses will quickly blow after the damage they took from Joltik. From here, you will have to think of an alternate way to Save Buneary.

Thinking on his toes, Tim will suggest using the cannon nearby to launch Pikachu at the Ferris Wheel so it can get to Buneary, bringing it to safety using the ropes they will attach to him before being fired from said cannon. With no other option, they proceed with this plan, all of which will be done by a Fast Action Event. In the process of rescuing Buneary, it will drop a locket that will fall to the ground not so far from where Tim will ultimately catch Pikachu at the End of the Fast Action Event.

After saving Buneary, the locket will be examined. Within it, Tim and Pikachu will Find a picture of Tim's mother and a picture of Tim when he was much younger. When questioning Buneary about the locket, it will mention how the man (obviously Harry) that had come previously to Fine Park with Pikachu gave it to it. Apparently, when Harry and Pikachu were investigating Fine Park before, they were Attacked by a mysterious person and their Skorupi. Buneary can't remember what this individual looks like, but it will tell you that Harry saved it from said Attack, giving it the locket for safe keeping until either he or Pikachu would return.

Now, with the investigation of Fine Park coming to its close, Harry and Pikachu will decide to head Home and regroup before hunting down this Skorupi and its trainer. While heading to their car, Mewtwo, the same whose genes where used to create the Substance known as R, will suddenly appear. After doing so, it will mention to Tim that Pikachu lost his memory after the events that took place before with Harry. However, even with doing so, Pikachu is still keeping the promise he had originally made to Mewtwo. You won't be told what this promise is before Mewtwo disappears, but after it does, you will return to the Baker Detective Agency to inform Mr. Baker and Mr. Holiday of your findings.
