Case #1: Look For The Vial

Walkthrough

The Third Chapter begins with Tim once again having a chat with Mr. Baker, mentioning how he is starting a part time job as a Lab assistant (clearly undercover) for the PCL. After Mr. Baker loans Tim a car for him to use to get to the facility, Tim and Pikachu will head out to the PCL in search of a similar vial to the one they found in Harry's Apartment. After they do, you will see Mr. Holiday meet up with Mr. Baker to discuss the disappearance of Harry Goodman, only to Find out from Mr. Baker himself that Tim is actually in town looking to find out what happened to his father.

After arriving to the PCL, you will be told by the security guard to head inside and report to the front desk. There, you will meet Rita and her Floette, being told to wait in the lobby until she calls you over. While waiting in the lobby, you will need to sketch out a copy of the facility map near the copy Machine. After you do, the PCL Director and one of the facility's researchers will arrive and greet you. From here, you will be given a Tour of the PCL by said researcher, the same with the nickname of Fridge.

By following Fridge into the laboratory, you will quickly meet another PCL employee with the name of Nina. After meeting Nina, she will mention how another researcher by the name of Wallace has suddenly changed the pass codes to certain rooms of the facility, like he usually does when a new employee has been hired. Unfortunately, Nina has no Clue what the new pass code could be. She mentions how Wallace wrote down an equation to figure out the new pass code on the whiteboard in the meeting room, but she personally doesn't understand how to figure it out.

If you go to the meeting room, you will see a chart at the top right corner of the whiteboard. As you do, you will be prompted to check the plants and books throughout the facility to help you figure out the new pass code. Since the plant in the meeting room will be of no use to you, you'll need to head to the library on the opposite side of the hallway you just came from. By searching the plants found within the library, you will discover another piece to figuring out the code. From there, you should be able to figure out the pass code simply by reading the books on the shelves in the library. The pass code Wallace set is the following: Triangle (Rotom), Star (Garbordor), Diamond (Trevenant), Square (Fennekin).

Once you have the pass code, you can enter it on the door with the keypad to enter the PCL courtyard. At the far End of the courtyard will be another hallway, the same that will lead to you being introduced to Wallace. Wallace is another researcher at the PCL, the same who actually studies Pokemon Cells. After learning of his present study involving telepathic communication between Solosis and Duosion - since there isn't much more to Wallace's Lab - head back out into the connecting hallway.

Should you go into the next room, you will enter yet another researcher's Lab. As you do, you will notice a Rotom within the room. Right before Pikachu is able to greet Rotom, the researcher that works in the lab you are in will suddenly appear. He will introduce himself as Carlos, and he will mention that his research revolves around that of energy. He will attempt to show you his research by having Rotom enter a motor, but instead of listening to Carlos, Rotom will instead hop into Carlos' computer. Before leaving the room, you can chat a Little with both Rotom and Carlos, but neither will be of much help to your search for a similar vial. However, on one of the shelves in Carlos' lab, you will actually be able to Find a vial. Unfortunately, though, Pikachu will Note that it's not the one you are trying to find.

If you head back into the hallway, you should be able to Find Klefki not so far away. By talking with Klefki, you will learn that is has a key to every room within the PCL, including the storage room found in Building B. Unfortunately, Klefki won't be up to helping you get in the storage room unless you bring it some of Shuckle's Juice. With this in mind, head back into the courtyard to find Shuckle. Standing near Shuckle will be Nina, the PCL employee you met earlier. As you reach the two of them, Nina will ask if you felt the sudden chill in the air just now. This is similar to the chill Pikachu felt in the library, if you had experienced said Pika Prompt. Nina informs you that she has been noticing these suddenly chills as of late, and that she is creating reports on them.

After being told this, you will learn that Nina is actually doing an experiment involving Shuckle. Apparently, she is trying to create an orange medicine with just the right smell using the abilities of Shuckle. Of course, she has yet to be successful thus far. Willing to help her, she tells Tim and Pikachu that she will need two berries and some Liquid of sorts in order to complete her experiment. By asking Nina what liquids she has used thus far, she will actually give you a chart listing the ones she has used previously.

Throughout the courtyard, you will Find trees with various colors (red, green, blue, and yellow) of berries. After getting these berries, you will then need to go on the search for various examples of Liquid. You can obtain water from the tank in the courtyard; Coffee from the Machine in the meeting room; grass juice from the desk in Fridge's Lab; and culture solution made from Solosis from Wallace back in his lab. You can even obtain a color chart from Carlos which will tell you what color you will receive from mixing various colors of berries. Once you have all of this, head back to Nina in the courtyard. By combining a red and yellow berry and mixing it with the culture solution from Solosis, you will get an orange Substance with just the right aroma.

Upon completing the experiment, Carlos will come to the courtyard to learn of Nina's experiment being successful with the help of Tim and Pikachu. Not too long after Carlos arrives, PCL Director Dorothy will show up with Emilia. Apparently, GNN will be having a TV shoot of the PCL the following day, which explains why Emilia is there. She almost blows Tim's cover, but he is able to prevent that simply by having her call him by his first name.

After this cutscene, you will be able to get some of Shuckle's Juice in order to give it to Klefki. Once you have given the juice to Klefki, it will unlock the storage room found in Building B. Deep within this room, you should Find a shelf that is Home to another vial. After examining said vial, Tim and Pikachu confirm that it is the same as the one they found back in Harry's Apartment. At the End of their conversation, it is revealed that a mysterious character had followed them and was eavesdropping the entire time. The next scene will quickly begin, with Tim and Pikachu at another cafe trying to figure out who at the PCL could've been involved with the disappearance of Harry. After leaving the cafe to get ready for their next day at the PCL, a mysterious character is shown talking on the phone about none other than Tim.
