Deep Rock Galactic is an amazing dungeon crawler-shooter where you can play as one of the four dwarven types (class) while digging through procedurally-generated caverns and tunnels in mineral-rich locations in space. Your crew of dwarves will be tackling various missions, with sssthe usual threats and dangers that come along with the job. However, there are certain variables that can make a mission lucrative, lethal, or both. In this page, we will discuss the different Warnings that can affect each mission.

In the mission terminal, you’ll be able to see which Warning or Anomaly is currently active on a particular mission. You can both have a Warning and Anomaly on the same mission; on the other hand, it seems that you can’t have more than one anomaly or warning on one given mission at a time.

Anomalies are either positive or neutral mutators. Since there are no additional risks involved for missions with Anomalies active, there are no hazard bonus increases.

Gold Rush

”We're rich! The mission area is full of extra rich gold veins."

* Gold veins will be twice as much compared to normal missions.

* With the Pots O’ Gold beer buff, all gold collected using your pickaxe will increase. Take note that using other methods aside from the pickaxe (like Bosco mining, Satchel Charge explosions, etc) will not take advantage of the said beer buff.

Low Gravity

”Mysterious gravitational irregularities result in lowered overall gravity in the mission area."

* The gravity in the cave you’ll explore in this mission will be over 2x lower than normal. This will allow you to make higher jumps and lessen a considerable amount of fall damage. However, falling off from extreme heights can still cause significant fall damage, even death.

* The “Tunnel Rat” beer buff can be skipped when you’re taking on Low Gravity missions.

* Flares and other throwables can now be thrown at a farther distance.

* The Gunners’ Cluster Grenade will scatter bomblets in a larger area.

Mineral Mania

”The mission area is home to unusually high concentrations of regional mineral resources."

* The biome’s local crafting resource will spawn more regularly when this anomaly is active.

* The bonus resource deposits will be affected by the procedural generation so the amount you’ll get will vary from mission to mission.

Golden Bugs

”Every kill is worth gold, literally."

* Every enemy killed will drop one Gold. These can be picked up by the dwarves and deposited to the M.U.L.E, Mine Head, or Drop Pod.

* The Pots O’ Gold beer buff will not apply to the gold dropped by enemies when this anomaly is active.

* Be warned of possible performance issues when you have a full party of four players and when playing on high Hazard Level missions. Since there’s a lot of enemies that may spawn, the numerous dropped gold may cause lag spikes.

Rich Atmosphere

”A special mix of gasses in the air makes both Dwarves and aliens faster. As a side effect, everyone's voice is funnier than usual."

* The dwarves movement speed will be increased by 50% and will ignore slowdowns caused by blizzards and snowstorms. The movement speed of enemies, M.U.L.E., and Bosco will remain the same.

* As a fun effect, the dwarves’ voices will be high-pitched. This doesn’t have any practical effect on the actual gameplay.

Critical Weakness

”Hitting Weak Points hurts even more than usual."

* Hitting enemy weak points will deal 5x damage compared to the usual 2x-3x.

* Critical weakness does not apply to creatures without Weakpoints like Loot Bugs.

* This buff only affects instant hits from weapons so DoTs and AoE weapon damage are not affected by this buff.

* Having Hollowpoint rounds equipped during this mission can deal even greater damage, even against those tough bugs with obvious Weak Points such as Praetorians and Glyphid Dreadnoughts.

Double XP

”Success will grant double the Experience Points of a standard mission."

* At the end of the mission, XP reward is doubled. However, mission failure will just award players with the standard 25% XP and credits.

* XP Multipliers can affect the final XP your crew will obtain. Complete secondary objectives, collect as much minerals as possible, obtain Korlok Tyrant Shards, or survive Machine Events to easily get a significantly higher XP.

Volatile Guts

”The odd composition of local food sources means all enemies violently combust upon death, causing area damage."

* Common enemies will explode upon death, damaging nearby bugs or dwarves alike. Larger enemies will cause larger explosions while smaller enemies or stationary hostile creatures will not explode.

* Explosions can cause chain reactions if there are multiple “softened” enemies close together. Mactera Spawn creatures are especially vulnerable to chain reactions.

That concludes our quick guide about different Anomalies in Deep Rock Galactic. The game is ideally enjoyed when played online via multiplayer, especially with friends.
