Milestones Guide

Surviving the unforgivable and harsh biomes in Deep Rock Galactic don’t just require having the best equipment possible but also skills and buffs that can help improve your performance, combat prowess, and survivability. Perks are optional buffs that you can equip to your dwarf that provide various beneficial effects to combat and exploration. However, to purchase perks, you’ll need Perk Points that are obtained by completing Milestones. In this page, we’ll discuss the game’s Milestone system and how to take advantage of it.

What are Milestones?

Milestones are personal missions or tasks that can award players with Perk Points upon completion. Perk Points in turn can be used to purchase Perks. These tasks may include leveling up a dwarf class, unlocking a certain number of accessories, completion of missions in certain biomes, completing missions against specific mutators or hazard levels, completing specific mission types, and more. The amount of Perk Points you’ll get per milestone will vary.

There are certain milestones that can be repeated. However, this is not cumulative; after reaching the target milestone, the counter will restart to zero. For example, for milestones that require you to complete specific Mission Types, they may award perk points after completing 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 missions of the same type. Since it is not cumulative, after completing two (same type) missions, you’ll get the perk point reward and your progress for that milestone will revert to zero. To get the next milestone reward, you’ll have to complete four same type missions, and so on. Some milestones can also progress concurrently to each other, like missions where you have to complete certain types, secondary objectives, difficulty levels etc.

Milestones are not specific to individual dwarves and will be shared among all dwarves, should you choose to try a different class. You can check the milestones you have completed and the current progress of available milestones in your KPI Terminal inside your personal pod back at the base.
