Question for The Sims 3

A child and an adult both live in my household and they age up on the same day. I want them both to age up properly so do I need to buy two b-day cakes? and get

Yes, you'd need two birthday cakes to age up two people. However, you don't need a cake to age them up, you can wait for it to happen (usually in the evening) and it makes no difference to how they age up.

You don't have to buy a birthday cake or wait for them to naturally age up. Press control+shift+c and then type in "testingCheatsenabled true" then press shift and click on your sim. Two options will show up, one of then says trigger age, or something similar to that. Just click on that and you can make them age up.
