I've currently got the Sims 3 Pets for christmas, but when I saved and quitted the game and came back to it later, my pet dog and cat were not moving at all? They won't move when I give them actions to do, and they slowly get neglected and I can't do anything to stop it. Anybody know what I can do?

This is straight from the EA site. It works on sims and pets.
In order to reset your Sim, from being stuck, you must launch the game (if game is not already launched) and load your family you are having issues with.
Once you have loaded the game and see that the Sim is still stuck, then follow the instructions below:
Open the cheat window by holding down Ctrl + Shift + C; at the same time.
This will pause the game and make the screen a little darker, with a bar across the top.
Now type resetSim Firstname Lastname, where the Firstname and Lastname is replaced by the name of the Sim that needs help. Make sure everything is spelled correctly and exactly as shown (it's case sensitive). Then press Enter.
For example: If Sim named Gobias Koffi is stuck, type: "resetSim Gobias Koffi."
This will return the Sim to a "safe and neutral state" which means they will appear somewhere on their home lot with all their needs in the green. This works for all Sims, not just the ones you're controlling.
