The Decisive Battle

Complete the “Save Moga Village” urgent quest by repelling Ceadeus and you'll unlock seven new quests under the urgent category. Six of these task you with killing two large monsters in a single quest. You've faced all of these monsters before and are more skilled and better equipped, but these quests are sure to test your mettle.

Mating Season: Hunt a Rathian and a Rathalos on the Deserted Island map
Four Horns: Hunt two Diablos on the Sandy Plains map
Dangerous Waters: Hunt a Royal Ludroth and a Gobul on the Flooded Forest map
White Wind of the Tundra: Hunt two Barioth on the Tundra map
The Death of Sky and Sea: Hunt a Lagiacrus and a Rathalos on the Deserted Island map
A Burnt Offering: Hunt an Agnaktor and an Uragaan on the Volcano map

You'll also unlock a quest called “The Decisive Battle.” Your goal here is to repel or kill Ceadeus. The quest setup is the same as “Save Moga Village,” but you can actually slay the Ceadeus and not just repel it.

Keep damaging Ceadeus and you'll eventually kill the Elder Dragon.

Ceadeus has a ton of health and the quest timer is set to 30 minutes, but you don't have to make the kill your first attempt. If you manage to at least repel Ceadeus, the damage you dealt during that quest will carry over to your next attempt.

As long as you deal enough damage in 30 minutes to repel Ceadeus at the end of the quest, the next time you set out on “The Decisive Battle,” all of the damage you dealt to Ceadeus will carry over. Keep this up and you'll eventually kill Ceadeus during the quest. You can carve Ceadeus's corpse four times.

Once you've killed Ceadeus, the quest will reset and Ceadeus will start back at full health whenever you next attempt it.
