Head to the Sanctum and talk to Lesley. Obtain the key from him then follow the trail to the next objective. You'll eventually come across a large chamber where you need to raise platforms to reach the other parts of the room. Stepping on the wrong direction will summon hollow men which you can easily destroy.

Step on the platforms and make your way to the left hallway first. Destroy all the enemies there and the stairs on the other end will rise. Continue following the only path and fight off the enemies. Continue stepping on the switches to create pathways that will lead you to the other door.

Continue following the path until you reach a sarcophagus. Open it to get the ancient lever. Several enemies will start appearing so take them out. There's also a flit switch here that you can't interact for now. If you want to solve this puzzle, you may need to come back later.

Just walk all the way back to Lesley and hand over the lever. Completing this task will unlock the “Dark Sanctum” achievement as well. You'll also have the option to burn the peasant or not.
