Kidnapped
(Bowerstone Industrial)
Fast travel to Bowerstone Industrial and follow the golden trail. Accept the quest from Linda. Follow her as she leads you to the thugs. Enter the house and find the trapdoor leading to the Cesspools.
Once there, follow Linda until the negotiation turns ugly. Kill all the thugs then grab the rare book (Dangerous Things: Gunpowder) from one of the tables there.

Go to the next room and learn that you'll still need to find Linda's fiancé in the sewers. Jump off from the ledge to land on the sewers below. You'll find the fiancée there and you'll need to lead him out of the sewers. You can find a gnome and a Silver Key in this area:
After getting the Silver Key, follow the golden trail. There should be a small pool downhill. Check out the path beside it as it leads to a treasure chest.

Continue following the path and as it turns to the right, continue ahead to find the gnome there. There's also a dig spot there.
Continue following the path and you should find some Hobbe grunts and summoner. Kill them all then check the dig spot and the chest in one corner of the camp. Continue following the path, kill more hobbes and follow the rock bridge. Another chest should be immediately visible.

Grab the item then continue following the path until you reach the exit. Gerald will ask your opinion whether he'll stick with Linda or not. Choose what you feel is best for your character's moral standing then exit the area. Reunite the lovers to complete this quest.

It depends if you let him die at the start of the game.
Whoa....when I play, as a princess, the fiance ends being Elliot. Is that just a glitch, or does it have to do with moral standing or what? Because some of my friends have played this game where the fiance IS some random villager. Huh, that is weird.
all right i wa playing and did this quest and there was elise as the fiance and i told her to dump lazlo does any one know where to find her to be with her?
I did this quest not too long ago and now I am trying to collect the books. Sadly, I missed this one. Anyone know how to get me back to this room to get this book?
I had something similar happen when I tried doing the quest to split up the married couple. The guy got caught on the door to the house and I couldn't get him off. I tried doing other quests and coming back, I tried using magic, tried attacking with melee and ranged weapons. Nothing worked. Came back to it a couple days later and like 5 quests later, attacked him with melee and he came off the doorway. I guess you also have to be facing the person just right? I don't know if this helped at all but just letting you know you're not the only one.
Okay, here's what happened. I started the quest, got down into the cesspools and found Gerald. All fine. I take his hand and lead him away. No problems. I get attacked by hobbes, and after the battle, I can't take his hand anymore. Anyone know how to solve this? I really don't want to start a new game. Any advice would be appreciated.
