Campaign Part 2: The Dogs of War (4 of 7)
You will recall from our play in Campaign 1 that the enemy invaded - and we had to fight them off... Well, this is where you get the troops ready to invade - and that being so, think Military Build Up!
The primary goal is to build up 100 Military Units - and also do the following Tasks:
What will eventually happen is half of the military capability you build will take part in the invasion of the enemy island.
For this Mission we are headed to Isla Rojo. The recommended settings for this are:
Island: Isla Rojo
Economic Difficulty: Medium
Political Difficulty: Medium
Disasters: Occasional
Once the Mission starts you should look for any weaknesses in Happiness and fix those first.
Then turn your attention to whatever the two industries are that you will focus on.
You should actually be in pretty good shape in that respect from earlier, so this will not be all that hard.
Pay attention to your supply lines - make sure you have all the raw materials that your different industries require - and pay attention to the various Happiness lines.
Your goal here is to build a decent military presence on the island so that you can contribute a strong military to the invasion force - but this also allows you a lot more control over the situation and the Mission than you might think.
By simply NOT building the military structures you can extend the play time to give yourself the opportunity to fix up the economy, happiness levels, and the other issues that you may be facing. That is a very good idea and tactic.
Once you have the economy and population in hand, simply start building the military complex up - though be prepared for the sabotage from Leon - as there will be plenty of that - and also it is a good idea to build into your Police Stations the capacity for fighting fires, as Leon will be sending a fair few arsonists after you!
Once you start building up the military presence on the island this Mission ends very quickly.
FYI: “The dogs of war” is a phrase from Act 3, Scene 1, line 273 of William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar: "Cry 'Havoc!', and let slip the dogs of war".
