The Cars of FM6 A-E

Thank you for printing this page from www.SuperCheats.com. Remember to come back to check for updates to this guide and much more content for Forza Motorsport 6

Last Updated:

Forza Motorsports began as an ambitious project to challenge Sony's grip on the Racing Simulation genre as a platform-exclusive for Microsoft's Xbox games console.

The flagship game that established the series featured a fairly large garage spanning practically every majjor performance and racing car maker. Each subsequent title for the series improved upon that adding larger numbers in terms of garage size and tracks - until Forza 5 - which released with what Turn 10 phrased as a more intimate selection of cars.

That translated .to a very small number compared to previous games in the series - but they made up for it in free and large car DLC releases.

That said, FM6 deals with the issue on a more happy note, with more than 450 cars from the get-go, and we are assured that there are more to come!

The Tao of Forza

It may sound slightly obsessive or even extreme to the uninitiated, but among the Forza Faithful there has long been an acknowledgement that there does exist among our racing culture a small community, well concealed, who may take their attachment to the mechanical miracle that we call - for convenience - racing cars.

Put another way, Forza Motorsport includes many culturally significant groups who function with built-in sliders of intensity, among which can be found a dedicated group whose life tends to revolve around their cars.

Depending on your point of view and who is doing the observing these enthusiasts are either very cool and respected, or they are very stupid and ridiculed -- very often identified by different names and labels the bulk of which are either negative or obscene...

For example, some racers refer to this group as "Motorheads" in the same way (and often with the same measure of sarcasm) that a German tourist might use when they refer to the residents of the Netherlands cities of Alkmaar, Edam, Gouda, Hoorn, and Woerden collectively as Käsekopf!

That identity - which loosely translated means "Cheesehead" in English, while in French it is usually said as Tête de Fromage.-- is almost always meant as an insult along the lines of suggesting the person being so addressed is lacking in certain mental faculties.

Regardless of the language being used, it is both an insult and a word loaded with other negative connotations, so you might think it would be a label that these folks would try to distance themselves from. There you would be totally off-base. Not only do the Motorheads in the game embrace that title, like the people of Holland's cheese-producing towns noted above, they freaking OWN that label, choosing to view it as a badge of honor.

The point to this is that there is a group - and it is growing larger by the day - of enthusiastic racers in the world of Forza Motorsport who celebrate life and their cars. They are known to seek out opportunities for every-day activities that are car-inclusive.

Rather than eat in a restaurant, they opt to have dinner at a drive-in and choose to go to the movies at an entirely different sort of Drive-In. They attend church in their car, and even get married!

Within that culture pretty much anything and everything that they can creatively find to do in a car goes and that is just the sort of stuff you do not ordinarily do in a car mind you. Then there is the whole modding scene and the issues that come with it and, when you add all of that together, is it any wonder that a place has been carved out in the world of Forza by this subset?

While having the list of cars in the game is useful for all of the Forza Faithful, we expect that the Motorheads who play will find it especially useful as a ticklist as they complete their garage collecting. That said, if you happen to BE a member of that refined and interesting part of the FM population, we'd really love to hear from you and talk to you!

Drop us a PM to open dialogue because we think that this guide - and future guides - would benefit by knowing what you are seeking in a guide, and what you would like to see. Just saying...

You'll be surprised what you can create if you put a little imagination to it...

Translating the Big List of Cars in FM6...

Making sense of the various labels and stats for cars in FM6 can take a little getting used to - in fact it is fair to say that there is something of a learning curve from the get go!

In the interest of helping you make the most sense of this as quickly as possible, first we explain what each column header represents:

1. Year

Generally speaking this number represents the "Model Year" for a car. IT should be emphasized that model year and the actual calendar year for a production car rarely ever coincide.

For example, a 2016 model year automobile is available during most of the 2016 calendar year, but is usually also available from the third quarter of 2015 as well, because production of the 2016 model began in July and August 2015. The reason behind this overlap has more to do with the time required to retool the assembly line for mass production than any other traditional or practical reason.

2. Model

Generally the decision for naming a new model car follows one of three basic schemes:

(1) Series Model Name - the new car is part of an already established model line - for example the Lincoln Town Car - so it already has a following and certain expectations about it.

(2) Model Name Appeal - when creating and naming a new car design the model name tends to follow a formula - either it consists of high-tech appearing incomprehensible gibberish (example: Acura RSX Type-S) or a name that is "cool" or "sexy" (examples include Javelin, Vanquish, Challenger, etc).

It uses either letters, numbers, or a combination of letters and numbers that market studies indicate have some mystical sway over consumers (examples include M4, M235i, EXR S, XTS, etc).

(3) Power Symbols - Certain key letters are thought to be very powerful when applied to a car model - examples being X, T, G, GT, XTS. In addition to those strategies, any name that a competitor has spent oodles of money promoting so that it is an established model name or model marker is also fair game - examples include SuperSport / Super Sport / SS, Continental, SRT, etc.

3. Cost

Thanks to very generous race purses, the Forza Rewards Program, bonus wheel spins, and massive earnings from the use of Mod Cards and Showcase Events, obtaining the Credits required to purchase the cars you want is simply a given in FM6!

In fact the only players who will find that side of the game challenging are the ones unable to experxise basic patients - you know, the gimme--buyme-takeme-showme sort?

For the record only a relatively tiny handful of cars will present any real challenge in terms of having the funding, and those are:

  • 2015 Lotus E23 - $2M

  • 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO - $2M

  • 1955 Mercedes-Banz 300 SLR - $1.9M

  • 1958 Ason Martin DBR1 - $1.9M

  • 1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rosa - $1.9M

  • 1967 Ferrari 330 P4 - $1.8M

  • 2015 Jaguar XKR-S GT - $1.8M

  • 1965 Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe - $1.8M

And about a dozen or so $1m to $1.7M cars as well... So yeah, there will need to be some scrounging!

4. Class/PI & Drive

The Class/PI & Drive reveals exactly what it sounds like it will reveal - the base class and Performance Index for the car in its stock configuration, along with its stock engine and drive configuration.

Let's use the 1968 Abarth 595 as our working example - as a brief examination of the cover screen for the car allows the veteran racer to easily interpret it. In the Manufacturers Showroom we find that our esseesse is just the sort of rat trap ride that offers extended fun levels and an opportunity to really let it all hang out!

A brief glance at the cover screen reveals an atypical European sub-compact with the sort of rear-engine, rear-wheel-drive design that stands out from the more typical engineering designers, who tend to favor front-engine, rear-wheel-drive or front-engine, front-wheel drive designs.

Thanks to its very honest E108 PI we know before we even get inside that the 595 is your basic rattletrap delivering pretty substandard performance for its class. Stock it offers a lower-bottom end for a cranky 0-60 mph whose waspish snap will not disappoint - or at least not quickly :)

Based on that PI we can anticipate a performance envelope of 0-60 mph in around 30 seconds, with a low top-end that caps out below 80 mph and braking power so crippled that at maximum thrust assuming you actually can hit 80 mph you will require well over 120 ft to stop.

The crotch-rocket effect and its stock shake, rattle, driving experience will certainly leave your passengers feeling as if they have just had a near-death experience - so how could you possibly ask for more fun? We'll tell you ow - you ask in the form of strategically applied Crew and Boost Cards that offer across-the-board boosts for Power and Brakes!

Those roll effects actually make it feel a lot faster than it obviously is - and if you go the extra mile and tweak the Tuning effects to stiffen the suspension and add some grip to the tires you can actually drift this puppy! Do it proper - and be sure to bring a container of high-quality Baby Wipes so your passenger's feel - and smell - baby bottom clean when they change into a fresh pair of panties!

Because yeah, THAT is what a proper interpretation of the PI is meant to deliver!

5. Speed

This is a relative index number that, once you have experience with cars in this class and in its PI range allows you to interpret it to direct speed capability.

6. Handling

This is a relative index number that, once you have experience with cars in this class and in its PI range allows you to interpret it to direct handling capability.

7. Acceleration

This is a relative index number that, once you have experience with cars in this class and in its PI range allows you to interpret it to direct acceleration capability.

8. Braking

This is a relative index number that, once you have experience with cars in this class and in its PI range allows you to interpret it to direct braking capability.

9. No.

This number is applied arbitrarily with no official attachment to the model it is assigned to other than that model being the x number under the declared maker. This can be a useful both for on-the-fly model assessment and to indicate when a model has been added to the game and manufacturer's line as is accomplished via DLC, as a letter code is added in such a case.

That nicely wraps up the listing key and the field explanations. Each of the car listings is organized below by maker, then year and model, with the most recent manufactured year in descending order.
