Use Your Resources

There is a lot that goes into being a successful Manager in FM17, so much so that it can be difficult at times to handle all the information flooding in to you. From Scouting and financial reports to the pressures of both Social Media and the board, you can quickly find yourself lost among all these varying outlets.

However, one thing Players can do, especially ones new to the Football Manager Series as a whole, is examine all the different resources at their disposal and become familiar with what information is available to them and where it can always be found. On the left-hand toolbar is a number of different icons - as pictured above - which is all the resources you have to better do your job at leading your team to glory. This is where you can look at the Finances of your team and examine how well you are controlling and using your budget, where you can view how well your Scouting and medical teams are keeping up with your players, where you are at with the board and how the fans feel about your leadership on Social Media, where you can keep track of all the players on your roster and the transfers you have in place, as well as where you can view (and act upon) your personal Inbox full of messages.

But after you become familiar with all of these resources, if you really want to become the best manager this world has ever seen, you will use them frequently. It isn't enough to just work on your Tactics with your current roster and call it a day. In order to succeed with your team in both the current season and each season moving forward, you will need to keep track of all these things and play an active role in each of these areas. If you choose not to, there will be no surprise if things turn for the worse and the Board quickly chooses to move in another direction.
