FaceGen Technology

Another new feature added to Football Manager 2017 is FaceGen Technology, seen immediately after starting the game when creating your manager's Avatar. With this new technology to the game's series, a player has the option to have their real-life face for their in-game character. All one must do is select to have their face scanned when personalizing their avatar, and then the game with render and generate the face of your character using the FaceGen Technology.

However, should a player choose to opt-out of this brand new feature - one already seen and used in a number of other gaming platforms such as the Nintendo 3DS - a player can always have the game randomly generate a face for their manager. They can do this over and over until the perfect combinations of facial features comes, continuing to further personalize their characters attire from there.
