Top 10 Starter Pokemon

#1 - Charmander

Predictable... I know... But that doesn't change the fact that Charmander is the number one Starter Pokemon that there has ever been. Since the first generation of Pokemon was released, fans have always been captivated to Charmander. It was mainly because it evolved into Charizard, the amazing flying dragon lizard. It was because of this, and only this, that Charmander became the most popular Starter Pokemon in Pokemon Red and Blue, and perhaps of all time. Scratch that... It is the most popular Starter Pokemon of all time.

Charmander doesn't have the best design among the Kanto Starter Pokemon. Squirtle clearly has the best design among them, and some might say that even Bulbasaur has a better one. But that doesn't matter. Charmander might not even be the best choice in those original Pokemon Games, since it has difficulties with most of the Gym Leaders and Elite Four. But still... That doesn't matter.

The only thing that matters is that Charmander eventually evolves into Charizard, one of the most popular Pokemon in existence. Charizard is the one with the great design; Charizard is the one every player wanted.

Even though Charizard wasn't the strongest Pokemon, people where just drawn to it. It wasn't even that good of a competitive Pokemon. That was until... It received not one, but two Mega Evolutions.

Mega Charizard Y continues on the basic idea of Charizard. It basically remains the same, having only a few minor design changes. Mega Charizard X, however, turns Charizard into what it was always meant to be: a Dragon. Mega Charizard Y is an amazing special attacker, while Mega Charizard X is an amazing physical attacker. Both Pokemon are incredible in their own ways, both in game and in competitive play.

Charmander is the best Starter Pokemon there is. There's just isn't a way of dethroning or disputing it.
