Date of Question: Dec 6 2004 | Question ID: 15860 What effect does the phazon beam have and how do I use it? I tried going into Phazon but that has no effect. Can someone help me? |
The Phazon Beam is the most powerful weapon you have, but you can't use it anywhere except against Metroid Prime's second, final form at the very end of the game!
When fighting him, eventually he will send Metroids against you and leave a pile of Phazon that, once entered, allows you to unleash the Phazon Beam!

The ice spreader is in a hallway in Magmoor caverns called shore tunnel. To get it you must have the power bombs for the morph ball. The middle of the hallway has a big crack on each side. Scan and power bomb it. The ice spreader is right below you.

The Phazon Beam is the most powerful beam in the game. You can only use it once in the game as far as I know, and that is when you are fighting Metroid Prime.
You have to stand in high concentrations of Phazon to use the beam. At the end of the game, Metroid Prime will create puddles of Phazon for you to walk in and charge your beam.
