Watch Dogs: Legion has recently been released (October 29th, 2020) on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, however during its initial release players have encountered numerous frustrating errors and bugs that is ruining their game experience. Hopefully this How to Fix Errors and Bugs guide will give you the solution to many of these problems. If not you will need to wait until November the 9th, 2020 when Ubisoft releases the first patch for Watch Dogs: Legion.
A BSoD (blue screen of death) is the worst thing that can happen during a game of Watch Dogs: Legion as this indicates a system crash. The error code that appears is ce-34878-0 and the solution to this problem is to either re-download and installl the game from scratch or restart your PlayStation 4 console and download the game. The only other thing you can do is wait for the next patch to fix the problem.
There is nothing more annoying than your game crashing at important moments preventing you from progressing in the story. This is something that players on Xbox One have reoported. Simarly to the PlayStation 4 you can either re-download and installl the game from scratch or restart your Xbox One console and download the game. Alternately, wait for the next patch.
Players have experienced game crashes while playing Watch Dogs: Legion on outdated versions of Windows. Ubisoft recommends that you get your OS to updates 1903 or 1909 at the minimum to prevent this annoying occurrence from continually happening. You can also check out the following:
- Ensure latest Nvidia or AMD graphics card driver is installed.
- Lower graphics settings can trigger a crash on lower-end hardware.
- Close down unnecessary apps running in the background.
Players have reported losing huge chunks of progress due to the autosave function not triggering. This can be incredibly upsetting but unfortunately there is no way to fix it, the problem is currently being addressed by Ubisoft who should have it fixed in the next patch. Until then it is recommended that you manually save after each important event to make sure you have saved your progresss. Take a look at our How to Manually Save your Game guide to find out how it is possible to force the game into saving your progress and not rely on the autosave triggering as you progress through the game.
Players have reported their game saves being corrupted, their characters for example would speak using an AI voice instead of a regular pre-recorded one. This is caused by bad coding and unfortunately there is nothing you can do except wait for November the 9th, 2020 when Ubisoft releases a patch that will solve these problems.
Players have reported that during gameplay the audio on their game would inexplicably cut out at random times during the game. When this happens try updating your audio drivers to the latest version, and then restart the game afterward. The fastest way to do this is to update your drivers using a third-party tool such as DriverFix for example which will update all of your drivers, not just the audio ones.
A frustrating problem that has been reported by players is they lose control of their vehicles when they hit bumps and curves. At the moment there is no way to solve this problem as this erratic behaviour is caused by bad coding which hopefully Ubisoft will fix in their next patch. Until then you have no choice but to drive more carefully.
This glitch randomly occurs when players jump into water and instead of finding themselves beneath the surface they encounter an evironment that is rendered without water which enables them to walk or run along the bottom as if on land. Unfortunately this is an error in the game's code, you can try a complete reinstall to see if it clears the problem but if not you will need to wait for the next patch.
Having to fight off an NPC assailant is troublesome enough without them suddenly turning invisible. Until the next patch fixes the problem you have no choice but to fight with your invisible assailant, although the attacker is invisible their shadow is not so direct your attacks in the direction of where their body should be compared to their shadow.
Players who purchased the Watch Dogs: Legion Ultimate Edition have experienced the loss of content when they load back into the game. There is no way to retrieve this content that disappeared without a trace and there is no way at the moment to fix the problem. All you can do is wait for Ubisoft to patch this up.
