Scarlet Nexus is an action-JRPG from Bandai Namco iset on a post-apocalyptic "brain punk" future where technology and psychic abilities collide. In a world overrun by otherworldly threats, it’s easy to forget bonding with your allies when you’re not risking life and limb in combat. Scarlet Nexus has a Bond system where you can increase your bonds with your allies to unlock more of their abilities that will aid you greatly in combat. In this page, we will list down the preferred gifts of all allies in Scarlet Nexus.

What are Gifts?

You can start giving gifts at the start of Standby Phase 2, as part of the story. While resting in the Hideout, you can give to your teammates gifts to increase their Bond with you. Increasing their bond level unlocks additional improvements and effects to their SAS powers like auto-blocking damage for you, providing combos and assists, faster SAS power cooldown, and more.

As you increase your teammates’ individual Bond levels, your Team’s overall Bond Level will also increase automatically. A higher team bond level considerably increases the rates of activation for SAS bond level effects like Guardian Visions and Assault Visions, as well as speeding up the speed of revivals, and chances of getting special items.

Finally, the gifts you have given will be displayed by your teammates in their respective spaces in the hideout. Giving them the same gift over and over again will not add to the clutter.

How to give gifts?

While inside the Hideout, talk to your allies, choose the Gift dialogue option, and select the item that you want to give to them. Only the gifts that they’ll accept will appear on their respective lists. However, since each character has his/her own preferences, it will be ideal to give them the items that they like or love to have a greater Bond gain with them. You'll know a character’s liked or preferred gift by looking at the small heart icon that will appear on their portrait when you highlight the gift, before even giving the item to them.

Portrait Indicator Bond Boost
No hearts Small bond boost but teammate will accept the gift.
Small Pink Heart Teammate like the item, has good bond boost.
Large red heart Teammate love the item, has great bond boost.
Check mark The gift was already given to the character at least once.

Where to obtain Gifts

Some gifts can be acquired on the battlefield as a resource heading, and they respawn too, similar to data points. The easiest method however is by getting them from the Shop’s Exchange option. Just provide the required materials and you’ll get the gift without spending anything. You can collect multiple copies of the same gift.

Trophies/Achievements Related to Gifts

There are two trophies related to giving gifts to your allies.

* Gifts: Gave a gift to an ally for the first time. *Does not include add-ons.

* Gift-Giving Freak: Give all gifts to all allies. *Does not include add-ons. The Plug-in Parallelization Programs does not count towards unlocking this trophy/achievement.

Unlocking the Gift-Giving Freak trophy will take a second playthrough since there are different types of gifts on Yuito and Kasane's playthroughs. You also need to give the other protagonist his/her own gifts. So for example, if you're playing as Kasane, you'll be able to give Yuito gifts and vice versa.
