Scarlet Nexus is an action-JRPG from Bandai Namco iset on a post-apocalyptic "brain punk" future where technology and psychic abilities collide. Each character in the game aside from the protagonists Yuito and Kasane have unique SAS powers that you can activate in combat. These SAS Powers can be further improved by increasing your bond levels with your allies. The characters who will join you will depend on the main character you’ve decided to play as at the start of the game. In this guide, we will cover all SAS Powers of your teammates when you play as Yuito, and the bonus effects you get for reaching certain bond levels with them.

What is Bond?

As the name implies, Bond signifies your relationship with your teammates. Higher bond levels will further improve your allies’ respective SAS powers. These include higher recharge rate, prolonged active time, enhanced effects, etc. Your allies will also be able to trigger various automatic assist “Vision” actions ranging from automatically blocking an attack for you, providing powerful assist strikes that can knock down enemies, or follow-up attacks dealing high damage.

To increase your bond with your teammates, give them Gifts while in the hideout, especially during standby phases. Don’t forget to view their bond episodes; some can be triggered by talking to the character inside the hideout while other episodes must be triggered by replying to the Brain Message screen. As you and teammates grow closer, more combat-oriented opportunities will become available to you.

Yuito’s Playstyle

Yuito and Kasane’s combat styles are very different, and the powers of the allies that will join them after going separate ways will complement their powers. Yuito excels in aggressive melee combat and he gets access to Gemma’s invulnerability armor, Luka’s teleportation, Tsugumi’s clairvoyance, and Hanabi’s pyrokinesis. These powers allow him to become more aggressive at close range where he can shine.

Hanabi Ichijo

Bond LV	SAS Effect	Description
1	Pyrokinesis & Focus Weapon Combo Area	Weapons and psychokinesis objects will be covered in flame while SAS is active. Attacks will deal increased damage to enemies with the added Burn effect. Weapon combos also focus their area of effect to further increase in power.
2	Flame Pillar & Guardian Vision	While SAS is active, hold [C] or Y to unleash a Flame Pillar, dealing high damage in a focused area. Also, when you're attacked there's a chance for a Vision of Hanabi to appear and block the attack, negating the damage.
3	Increase SAS Recovery Speed & Combo Vision	Increases the recovery speed of the SAS Pyrokinesis gauge. Using [CTRL] + [F1][F2][F3][F4] or LB + B A X Y enables a Combo Vision in which Hanabi appears and performs a spinning slash with her weapon and damaging enemies around her.
4	Assault Vision	Attack an unguarded enemy and Hanabi will call out. Answer her using the displayed button prompt and she will appear as a Vision and perform a special attack.
5	Prolong SAS Effect & Burn Negation	SAS Pyrokinesis effect time increases. Your Burn status will be removed and the damage is negated during the effect.
6	Explosion & Enhance Pyrokinesis	During SAS, unleash a powerful explosion on the 3rd aerial weapon combo attack, knocking back enemies. Damage increases even further with a weapon combo.

Tsugumi Nazar

Bond LV	SAS Effect	Description
1	Clairvoyance and Read Attack	Invisible enemies are revealed while in SAS and you can navigate in fog-shrouded areas. Also, Clairvoyance improves the timing window to execute a perfect dodge. After a perfect dodge, perform a Read attack that deals heavy damage to the enemy and knock them down.
2	Shell Break & Guardian Vision	While SAS is active, Read attacks can break enemy shells with one hit. Also, when you're attacked there's a chance for a Vision of Tsugumi to appear and block the attack, negating the damage.
3	Psychokinesis Read Attack & Combo Vision	After successfully perfect dodging, perform a pyschokinesis Read attack to deal heavy damage to the enemy and knock them down. Using [CTRL] + [F1][F2][F3][F4] or LB + B A X Y enables a Combo Vision in which Tsugumi appears and performs a ranged attack while retreating.
4	Increase SAS Recovery Speed & Assault Vision	Increases the recovery speed of the SAS Clairvoyance gauge. Attack an unguarded enemy and Tsugumi will call out. Answer her using the displayed button prompt and she will appear as a Vision and perform a special attack.
5	Prolong SAS Effect	SAS Clairvoyance effect time increases.
6	Increase Crush Effectiveness & Drop Rate	While SAS is active, you can deplete the enemy’s Crush Gauge even better. Defeating enemies will always drop items.

Gemma Garrison

Bond LV	SAS Effect	Description
1	Sclerokinesis	While SAS is active, you’ll gain an invulnerability armor that will absorb any damage. However, the gauge will deplete more quickly as you take damage.
2	Increase SAS Recovery Speed & Guardian Vision	Increases the recovery speed of the SAS Sclerokinesis gauge. Also, when you're attacked there's a chance for a Vision of Gemma to appear and block the attack, negating the damage.
3	Status Ailment Negation & Combo Vision	While SAS is active, you can’t be inflicted by any status ailment. Using [CTRL] + [F1][F2][F3][F4] or LB + B A X Y enables a Combo Vision in which Gemma appears and performs a shell-breaking attack.
4	Assault Vision	Attack an unguarded enemy and Gemma will call out. Answer him using the displayed button prompt and he will appear as a Vision and perform a special attack.
5	Prolong SAS Effect	SAS Sclerokinesis effect time increases.
6	Automatic Sclerokinesis	When attacked, there’s a chance that the Sclerokinesis armor will automatically activate. The chance of automatic activation is higher if Gemma is in the party.

Luka Travers

Bond LV	SAS Effect	Description
1	Teleportation	While SAS is active, your dash will become a short-ranged teleportation move. Using your weapon attack will allow you to teleport within striking distance of an enemy.
2	Mid-Air Teleportation & Guardian Vision	While SAS is active, your air-dash will become a short-ranged teleportation move. Using your weapon attack will allow you to teleport within striking distance of an enemy. Also, when you're attacked there's a chance for a Vision of Luka to appear and block the attack, negating the damage.
3	Increase SAS Recovery Speed & Combo Vision	Increases the recovery speed of the SAS Teleportation gauge. Using [CTRL] + [F1][F2][F3][F4] or LB + B A X Y enables a Combo Vision in which Luka appears and launches an enemy up in the air, then smashing it down with his hammer, dealing damage and knocking it down.
4	Assault Vision	Attack an unguarded enemy and Luka will call out. Answer him using the displayed button prompt and he will appear as a Vision and perform a special attack.
5	Prolong SAS Effect	SAS Teleportation effect time increases.
6	Charge Teleportation Attack	While SAS is active, press and hold [C] or Y to charge up your attack. When released, you can teleport to an enemy in range and deal damage to a large area.
