Strange Statues Puzzle

There’s a secret puzzle that will yield 3 Gold Bars once completed. You should do this as early as you can to get a good amount of starting funds, especially if you’re not doing the Limpany Gold Bar Exploit Trick. Follow the steps below to find the location and the solution. We also have a video at the end of this page showing the steps discussed in this article.

This step is optional and will not be necessary to solve the puzzle, if you’re planning to follow the solution below. Otherwise, you have to do this to have a clue how to solve the puzzle yourself.

Finding the Strange Wall Art

Head to Window Rock in Granite Pass and climb the peculiar-looking rock formation. Under the arch you’ll find a wall art on the stone wall. Approach it until Arthur is able to write it down in his journal. This will serve as the solution of the puzzle you’ll be checking out next and you can review it anytime by opening your journal.

Finding the Strange Statues

The statues are located inside a hidden cave near the rocky road east of Donner Falls. Approach the mounds of gray rocks from the western side of it to find a narrow passage you can enter on foot. Find a very narrow opening between the rocks and enter through there. Follow the tunnel to reach the cavern where you’ll find seven statues surrounding a weird statue of a bird with a head of a woman.

Solving the Puzzle

Since this puzzle requires great attention to detail, it’s better to switch to first person mode when checking the area. At the base of the statues, there are wooden plugs that serve as the buttons for “activating” the statues. The objective is to push the plugs of the specific statues to unlock the pedestal under the central statue containing the gold. If you made a mistake, you can reset the wooden plug by pushing it from behind the statue.

The next thing you should look out for are the fingers of the standing statues. The total number of their fingers designate their numbers. The solution will only require you to push the plugs of 4 out of the 7 statues. You also have to take note of the statue with four fingers and a missing arm. The arm is found somewhere within the cave, which has 3 fingers which means that specific statue has the value #7
