Believe it or not, the game has an experience system dedicated to improving your health, stamina, and dead eye gauges. These are the outer rings around their respective cores. The more these rings surround your cores, the longer it will take before a specific action or damage reaches your cores. These gauges will restore over time, depending on your core’s status. They can be restored and fortified using tonics, which can be easily accessed from your weapon wheel.
There’s no universal EXP point to improve these gauges. Each gauge will require you to do specific tasks in order to level them up. You can check a stat’s progress by access the menu, then select Player > Artur > then select the stat you want to check. Highlight the Progression option and you’ll see the current progress of a specific stat to the next level.
When earning EXP by performing actions related to a specific gauge, you’ll hear an audible prompt and see a small icon of the stat on the middle-right part of your screen. Once you reach specific thresholds (25%, 50%, 75%), you’ll see a notification in the upper left part of the screen telling you how much you still need to level up a particular stat.
Additionally, you can buy trinkets from Fences to gain permanent EXP bonuses for specific stats, which will help you increase your stats faster. These trinkets require specific crafting materials, especially legendary animal parts. That’s why hunting for legendary animals as early as you can will allow you to reap the benefits of the exp boosts.
