Money Lending and Other Sins

Talk to Mr. Strauss to start this mission. He’ll mark three targets in your map and you can go after them in any order you want. The mission will be completed after collecting from two debtors. In my playthrough, I confronted Wrobel since he’s one of the closest targets while Downes seems to be a story-related debtor. The other two debtors will still be available in the map and you can still collect from them. When collecting money from the debtors, you can use intimidation, threats, or even violence to some degree but you’ll have to make sure not to kill them. The available debtors in this chapter are the following:

After getting the payment from the first debtor, donate it to the camp immediately to unlock the Ledger. The ledger will allow you to use camp funds to purchase new upgrades for it. You’ll be required to purchase an upgrade so you can choose any of the cheapest ones. You’ll also get a cut from the amount you collected from the debtors, making it a good source of extra income early on.

Sometimes you won’t get the actual money as payment but in other forms such as valuables. These collected funds and valuables needs to be contributed to the camp but don’t worry since you’ll still get a reasonable cut for your trouble. You're not required to bring home a collected debt immediately so you can go and collect the other debts then just deposit them to the camp's lockbox all at once.

After collecting money from any of them, you’ll be asked to go to Downes Ranch and confront Thomas Downes. Intimidate and beat him up but as soon as his family intervenes, you’ll be forced to go home empty-handed. Talk to Strauss to complete the mission.
