Like any other RPGs, your party needs to be properly equipped in order to tackle the increasingly difficult enemies across different dungeons. In Persona 5 Strikers, the Phantom Thieves will have to procure weapons, armors, and accessories to help improve their combat capability. In this page, we will quickly discuss the different methods and tips on obtaining the best equipment for your team.
To simplify this topic, here are the various sources of equipment in the game. We will discuss these in detail below.
* Buy from Sophia’s Online Shop
* Obtain from chests
* Buy from Local Shops
* Complete Requests
* Story Progression
Sophia’s shop opens as soon as she joins the Phantom Thieves as part of the story, quite early in the game, on 7/27. Once available, you can access the shop from your Hideout or later on, from your RV. You can conveniently access your hideout by leaving Jails from any checkpoint. Here you can buy weapons, protectors, and accessories.
As you continue through the story, Sophia’s Shop will also expand its inventory. You’ll also be able to add more items in her shop by completing specific requests. After getting the Smart Shopper bond skill, Sophia will have some items on sale from time to time. Don’t pass on getting these discounted items since you may find rare items on sale that are not part of Sophia’s normal inventory!
As with most RPGs, you’ll find chests while exploring dungeons (called Jails in P5S) that will contain various valuable loot. Most of the equipment you can get from chests are unique or incredibly rare that can’t be bought anywhere else so try not to sell these accidentally. High-tier chests will require higher Locksmith level so leveling it up by a few levels early on is a worthy investment for the remainder of the game.
Aside from Sophia’s shop, there are no other shops in the game that will sell weapons and armor. However, there are accessories exclusively-available only in a locale. Since your party can’t go back to these locations as you progress through the story, it is imperative that you immediately check out these shops whenever you visit a new city and buy said accessories.
After clearing the first jail, you’ll get access to the Phan-site. This is where you can get various requests with a variety of rewards. Prioritize requests that will award weapons and armors. Usually, the weapons and armors you can get from these requests at the point where they first became available are better than what you can find at Sophia’s shop. Getting these weapons and protectors for free will in turn save you some money that you can use for accessories or stock up on consumables. There are also requests that will enable new accessories to be sold in Sophia’s shop.
