Hacking Battle Guide

While exploring various areas inside a jail, you may encounter an obstacle that can only be taken down by Oracle. Since Oracle is a non-combatant but equally important member of the Phantom Thieves, you’ll be both her sword and shield. In this page, we will briefly discuss the Hacking Battle mechanic of the game.

You’ll first encounter this sequence while exploring the first jail (Shibuya), in Central Street. The idea is simple; protect Oracle from waves and waves of enemies while she’s hacking a specific terminal. The sequence will end once Oracle’s progress gauge reaches 100%.

While hacking, Oracle will be vulnerable to enemy attacks and interruption. If her HP drops to 0, you’ll lose. Preventing enemies from getting close to her, using defensive skills on her, and healing her will be your main methods of ensuring that she remains unharmed and well. Your AI-controlled allies will prioritize protecting her as well so you shouldn’t have problems keeping her safe.

Furthermore, you can also give Oracle protective gear. To ensure that she can endure hits from enemies whenever she’s needed for hacking sequences, always keep her protector updated. In addition to standard female protectors, there are Oracle-exclusive gears as well that only she can use.
