Xbox 360 LIVE Update I (Summer 2013)

While it is not yet current with the Primary (PC) Version of the game, updates to the Xbox 360 version through Summer 2013 (covered in this update - Update I - to the guide) include the following:

The End - A new dimension entered through an End Portal (found in a Stronghold). Defeat the Enderdragon!

New Items List

New items have been added to the game, and here is the updated Item List to reflect that. Remember that crafting on the Xbox 360 version is automatically placed, which means you only need to know the ingredients / resources so you know you have what you need to create and craft items.

The Crafting Menu has been officially organized, so we are now using the official Menu Tab Title under which you will find all of the recipes available. This section of the guide will allow you to review and quickly look-up the various recipes to determine what resources are needed to craft them, and what they do (when you don't know).

STRUCTURES TAB MENU

Bed: x3 Wood Planks x3 Wool Blocks.

Used to forward time from any time at night to morning if all the players in the world are in bed, and changes spawn point of the player. The colors of the bed are always the same regardless of the colors of the wool used.

Birch Wood Slab: x3 Birch Wood Planks. (Makes x6)

Used for compact staircases.

Birch Wood Stairs: x6 Birch Wood Planks. (Makes x4)

Used for compact staircases.

Birch Wood Planks: x4 Birch Wood Blocks. (Makes x4)

Used as a building material and can be crafted into many things. Can be crafted from any form of wood.

Brewing Stand: x1 Blaze Rod x3 Cobblestone.

Used for making Potions and Splash Potions.

Bricks: x1 Clay Ball.

Baked from Clay in a furnace.

Brick Block: x4 Bricks.

Used as a building material.

Brick Slab: x3 Brick Blocks. (Makes x6)

Used for compact staircases.

Brick Stairs: x6 Brick Blocks. (Makes x4)

Used for compact staircases.

Chest: x8 Wood Planks.

Stores blocks and items inside. Place two chests side by side to create a larger chest with double the capacity.

Clay Block: x4 Clay Balls.

When broken drops Clay Balls which can be baked into Bricks in a furnace.

Cobblestone Slab: x3 Cobblestone Blocks. (Makes x6)

Used for compact staircases.

Crafting Table: x4 Wood Planks.

Allows you to craft a more varied selection of items than the normal crafting.

Enchantment Table: x1 Book x2 Diamond x4 Obsidian Blocks

This allows players to enchant Swords, Pickaxes, Axes, Shovels, Bows, and Armor, using the player's Experience Points.

Fence: x6 Sticks. (Makes x2)

Used as a barrier that cannot be jumped over. Counts as 15 blocks high for players, animals, and monsters, but 1 block high for other blocks.

Fence Gate: x2 Wood Planks x4 Sticks.

Similar to a door, but used primarily with fences.

Furnace: x8 Cobblestone Blocks.

Allows you to smelt ore, create charcoal and glass, and cook fish and porkchops.

Iron Bars: x6 Iron Ingots. (Makes x16)

Used as a barrier, similar to fences.

Iron Door: x6 Iron Ingots.

Iron doors can only be opened by Redstone, buttons, or switches.

Ladder: x7 Sticks. (Makes x2)

Used to climb vertically.

Nether Brick: x1 Netherrack.

Used to build Nether Fortresses. Immune to Ghast's fireballs.

Nether Brick Fence: x6 Netherrack. (Makes x6)

Used in Nether Fortresses.

Nether Brick Stairs: x6 Nether Bricks. (Makes x4)

Used for compact staircases.

Nether Brick Slab: x3 Nether Bricks. (Makes x6)

Used for compact staircases.

Nether Block: x4 Nether Bricks.

Used as a building material.

Oak Wood Planks: x4 Oak Wood Blocks. (Makes x4)

Used as a building material and can be crafted into many things. Can be crafted from any form of wood.

Made from Stone Blocks, and commonly found in Strongholds.

Used for compact staircases.

Trapdoor: x6 Wood Planks. (Makes x2)

Activated by using or hitting them or with Redstone. They function as normal doors, but are one by one block in size and lay flat on the ground.

Wooden Door: x6 Wood Planks.

Wooden doors are activated by using or hitting them, or with Redstone.

TOOLS AND WEAPONS TAB MENU

Arrow: x1 Flint x1 Sitck x1 Feather. (Makes x4)

Used as ammunition for bows.

Bow: x3 Sticks x3 String.

Allows for ranged attacks by using arrows.

Bowl: x3 Wood Planks.

Used to hold mushroom stew. You keep the bowl when the stew has been eaten.

Bucket: x3 Iron Ingots.

Used to hold and transport water, lava, and milk.

Cauldron: x7 Iron Ingots.

Can be filled with water using a bucket of water, and can then be used to fill Glass Bottles with water.

Clock: x1 Redstone x4 Gold Ingots.

Displays positions of the Sun and the Moon.

Compass: x1 Redstone x4 Iron Ingot.

Points to your start point.

Diamond Hoe: x2 Diamonds x2 Sticks.

Used to till dirt and grass blocks to prepare for crops.

Diamond Axe: x3 Diamonds x2 Sticks.

Used to chop wood-related blocks faster than by hand.

Diamond Pickaxe: x3 Diamonds x2 Sticks.

Required to mine stone-related blocks and ore.

Diamond Shovel: x1 Diamonds x2 Sticks.

Used to dig dirt, grass, sand, gravel, and snow faster than by hand. Shovels are required to dig Snowballs.

When thrown, will show the direction to the End Portal. When twelve of these are placed in the End Portal Frames, the End Portal will be activated.

Fire Charge (Charcoal): x1 Gunpowder x1 Charcoal x1 Blaze Powder. (Makes x3)

Useful for setting things on fire.

Fishing Rod: x3 Sticks x2 String.

Used to catch fish.

Can be filled with water, and used as the starting ingredient for a potion in the Brewing Stand.

Used to create brighter light than torches. Melts snow/ice and can be used underwater.

Restores 2 Health, and regenerates Health for 4 seconds.

Magma Cream: x1 Blaze Powder x1 Slimeball.

Button (Stone): x1 Stone Block.

Used to send an electrical charge by being pressed. Stays activated for approximately a second before shutting off again.

Used to send an electrical charge by being pressed. Stays activated for approximately a second before shutting off again.

Dispenser: x7 Cobblestone x1 Bow x1 Redstone.

Used to hold and shoot out items in a random order when given a Redstone charge.

Lever: x1 Stick x1 Cobblestone Block.

Used to send an electrical charge by being turned on or off. Stays in the on or off state until pressed again.

Note Block: x8 Wood Planks x1 Redstone.

Plays a note when triggered. Hit it to change the pitch of the note. Placing this on top of different blocks will change the type of instrument.

Piston: x3 Wood Planks x4 Cobblestone x1 Iron Ingot x1 Redstone.

When powered (using a button, lever, pressure plate, Redstone torch, or Redstone with any one of these) a piston extends if it can and pushes blocks.

Pressure Plate (Stone): x2 Stone Blocks.

Used to send an electrical charge when stepped on by a player, an animal, or a monster. Stone Pressure Plates can also be activated by dropping something on them.

Pressure Plate (Wood): x2 Wood Boards.

Used to send an electrical charge when stepped on by a player, an animal, or a monster. Wooden Pressure Plates can also be activated by dropping something on them.

Redstone Repeater: x2 Redstone Torches x1 Redstone x3 Stone Blocks.

Used in Redstone circuits as a repeater, a delayer, an/or a diode.

Redstone Torch: x1 Redstone x1 Stick.

Constantly sends an electrical charge, or can be used as a receiver/transmitter when connected to the side of a block. Can also be used for low-level lighting.

Sticky Piston: x1 Piston x1 Slimeball.

When powered (using a button, lever, pressure plate, Redstone torch, or Redstone with any one of these) a piston extends if it can and pushes blocks. When it retracts it pulls back the block touching the extended part of the piston.

TRANSPORT TAB MENU

Boat: x5 Wood Planks.

Used to travel in water more quickly than swimming.

Detector Rail: x1 Redstone x1 Pressure Plate (Stone) x6 Iron Ingot.

Functions like a pressure plate (sends a Redstone signal when powered) but can only be activated by a minecart.

Minecart: x5 Iron Ingot.

Used to transport you, an animal, or a monster along rails.

Minecart with Chest: x1 Minecart x1 Chest.

Used to transport goods along rails.

Minecart with Furnace: x1 Minecart x1 Furnace.

Will move along rails and will push other minecarts when coal is put in it.

Powered Rail: x1 Stick x6 Gold Ingots x1 Redstone. (Makes x6)

When powered, accelerates minecarts that pass over it. When unpowered, causes minecarts to stop in it.

Rail: x1 Stick x6 Iron Ingot. (Makes x16)

Used to guide minecarts.

Collected from sheep, and can be colored with dyes.

New Easter Eggs - You may have found all the Music Discs in the Tutorial World, but they have moved some into the game world in the most recent update! Woot!

Tutorial World Improvements

The Tutorial World has received a significant measure of improvements, including the following:

General Additions

- Changed the Tutorial world to enable the new terrain features in it.

- Changed the Tutorial world to add climbable Vines, and some of the new items, and removed/reduced the items in the Brewing, Farming and Breeding chests.

- Updated Tutorial World with new biome, and added mini-tutorials for new features.

Quests

- Added Music Disc Quests in the Tutorial world - players can search the world for the 12 chests, each containing one of the Music Discs that can be played in a Jukebox.

- Updated Music Disc quests in the Tutorial World.

- Moved six of the twelve music disc quests in the Tutorial World

Tutorials

- Added mini tutorial for eating in the Tutorial world.

- Added mini tutorial for sprinting in the Tutorial world.
