The 1.11 version of the PC edition of Minecraft is a major update and was released on 14th November 2016. Sometimes referred to as the 'Exploration Update' this version aimed at adding more things to do in the game outside of mining and crafting. Listed below are the new additions and changes that were indtroduced to this update.

Additions

3 New Splashes.
'Javalicious edition'

'You're going too fast!'

2 New Villager Professions:

Curse Enchantments
These are enchantments that have negative effects, the two curses that have been added to the 1.11 Update are the Curse of Binding (Enchantment ID 10) and the Curse of Vanishing (Enchantment ID 71). The Curse of Binding will bind the item to you and prevent you from dropping it or taking it off if it is an armour item and the Curse of Vanishing will make the item disappear if you die. Note: You will be unaffected by the Curse of Binding enchantment if you are playing in Creative mode.

4 New Mobs:
Vindicators, Evokers, Vexes, and Llamas.

2 New Blocks:
Observer and Shulker Box.

New Spawn Eggs
The following list are eggs that were removed in 1.10 but have now been re-added (except the cat spawn egg):
Zombie Horse
Wither Skeleton
Skeleton Horse
Elder Guardian
Donkey
Mule
Stray
Husk

New Spawn Eggs:
Llama
Evoker
Vex

4 New Items:
Shulker Shell:
Upon death there is a 50% chance of a Shulker Shell being dropped by a Shulker. A Shulker Shell crafted together with a Chest in a column can be made into Shulker Boxes.

Totem of Undying:
Upon Death Evokers will always drop one of these Totems and holding it in either hand will resurrect you upon taking lethal damage.

2 Explorer Maps:
These maps can only be obtained from cartographer villagers and they are used to locate ocean monuments and the new woodland mansions.

Woodland Mansions.
The woodland mansion is generated randomly in the Roofed Forest biome and can usually be located tens of thousands of blocks away from the spawn. They can either be found using woodland explorer maps which are bought from cartographer villagers with emeralds or by using the /locate Mansion command. There are different kinds of woodland mansions but they will all have certain things in common. They usually have 2-3 floors with a large variety of different rooms and the top floor is always a bit smaller than those below. All woodland mansions will also have a large foyer and a winding maze of corridors.
