Android 21 Arc - Chapter 5

Walkthrough:

Chapter 5 will begin back at one of the Red Ribbon Labs. Android 21 is resting in another room, and Android 16 finally reveals to Android 17 and Android 18 who Android 21 truly is. He begins by saying she is an android that was created from cells of countless warriors and brilliant researchers, much like Cell but only stronger. Unfortunately, her most dangerous quality is her urge to feed, but it allows her to Power up endlessly by absorbing the Energy of other creatures. Android 18 questions why she does this, but Android 16 doesn't know exactly. He guesses it because of some of the cells that make up Android 21, ones that cause this urge to feed to take on a persona that opposes her true nature, the same she has been trying to hold back from surfacing within herself.

Android 17 will then ask why Android 16 is so invested with Android 21, to which Android 16 says it is because she was the one who repaired him. Both Android 17 and Android 18 think there is more to his devotion, but Android 16 stops talking about it altogether. Android 18 then suggesting proceeding in a way that will continue to suppress Android 21's urge to feed, thinking that is the best place to start. Android 16 tells that is the exact reason why they are using the Link System that Dr. Gero first invented, as Android 21 was hoping it would help keep her craving to feed under control. Unfortunately, as Android 16 tells the others, links usually last but for a minute, making it hard to keep someone under control.

That is why the human soul linked to Android 18 is so unique, as Android 16 has no idea how the link has survived for so long and continues to thrive. Android 18 then wonders if Android 21 was going to ultimately use the human soul inside of her to help her keep her urges under rap. Android 16 responds by saying it wouldn't surprise him if that was her goal, as the potency of the link your human soul has with Android 18 was her last hope to control this persona within her. The three then agree that the plan should be to keep the link alive until all of the clones are defeated, allowing it to get stronger if you ultimately need to further help Android 21.

After the next wave of Clone Battles and the ensuing Clone Boss Battle, you will suddenly have to link with Android 21. While inside Android 21, she will apologize for all the trouble she is causing you. She will also tell that she first repaired Android 16 because he was her son before they were both used by Dr. Gero as androids. She will finish by saying she must get stronger so that the two can be family again. After this, another bunch of Clone Battles and another Clone Boss Battle await you. After making quick work of them, you will again have to link to Android 21. This time, she will tell you that by taking with your soul, she think it is helping repress the urge within herself. She will also go on about how she has now memory of her former life as a human, finishing by saying it doesn't really matter since she hopes to make new ones with Android 16 one day.

Once the next batch of Clone Battles and the Clone Boss Battle has been dealt with, you will have to link with Android 21 for a third time this chapter. This time, she is struggling more to control the urge deep within her. She will tell you that she sometimes wonders why this part of her exists, wishing she could ask Dr. Gero for herself, but he has been dead for quite some time. Even if she could ask him, since he was evil and all, she doubts that he would give her the answers she is looking for. Then again, even if he would, she would probably end up wishing she hadn't asked him in the first place.

After the next set of Clone Battles that again ends in another Clone Boss Battle, Android 16 and Android 17 will both agree that the link your soul shares with Android 18 is getting stronger. Just then, a blast will be sent at the four of you, which Android 16 will quickly Deflect in another direction. It is Cell, and he knows that Android 21 is responsible for everything that is happening. Android 21 will say she can't remember any of that now, as she was struggling so hard way back then to keep the urge within her suppressed. However, even though she doesn't remember, she knows that it had to have been her that somehow revived Cell and the other villains from the dead.

Knowing that all of this is because of her doing, he looks to destroy all the other Androids. His Power is incredible, as he says he was easily able to control the artificial soul within him to get this strong. Android 21 will look to fight him, but Android 16 warns her that she would likely lose her power to suppress the hunger within herself if she did. This doesn't stop her though, and she proceeds to approaching Cell. Android 21 quickly powers into her true form, but she is still under control after she does. She does fear losing her control within this state, but she cannot allow Cell to hurt the one she loves more than anything else. You are then sent into battle with Cell, unlocking Android 21 (Good) as a member of your Team. Defeat Cell in order to proceed to Chapter 6.
