Last Updated:

Round-based combat with mixed teams of heroes and infantry. Heroes are available for this mode. This mode supports up to a max of 12 players.

Where HERO HUNT had you vying for the role of the Hero and otherwise working as a pack to take out the Hero, the Heroes vs. Villains mode is a lot different. Oh, it still features Heroes - and Villains - but in this case the game mode focus is on a team of three heroes taking part in a Heroes vs. Heroes Barney! (hey, if you LIKE the Imperial side than their side ARE your Heroes and the Rebels the Villains. Just saying).

Heroes vs Villains - sort of a super Hero Hunt
Heroes vs Villains - sort of a super Hero Hunt

The Core Objectives for this Mode are:

  • Defeat the opposing team’s heroes.

  • Protect your own heroes.

  • Defeat all three opposing heroes to win the round.

What that means is that you have three players who are chosen at random to play as the heroes, with the remaining team members being regular soldiers/troopers. When a hero gets killed - and yes, that happens - they rotate back into the game as a soldier/trooper.

That being the case then, keeping your heroes alive is really part of the core strategy for each match! Especially considering the fact that, if you allow all three of your heroes to BE killed, that pretty much ends the match.

In our experience the battle plans that work best are such that the three heroes from one team try to focus on taking out the three heroes from the other team, while at the same time the soldiers / troopers try to do their best to take out the soldiers / troopers on the other side.

The reason that tends to work best is because the heroes tend to have an advantage over the regular troops in power and damage. That said though, when you get a few or three players on one team who are very good at and who understand the strengths and weaknesses of the heroes that they are playing, this can be a nasty route.

Here you get the chance to play as your favs - or not.

Grok Your Heroes

The best advice that we can provide to you in terms of hints and tips for this mode is to understand the heroes. Specifically their weaknesses, their strengths, and how best to play them.

For your edification here are the basics on how to run each:

Han Solo (Attack Hero)

This heroes opposite is Boba Fett. This is an attack hero, which means that they do very well on offensive, and can spearhead your strategy and should lead the offensive posture for your team.

Lucky Shot: Fires a round that explodes upon impact, potentially offering an AOE attack.

Rapid Fire: Allows Han to fire his blaster pistol a lot without risk of it over-heating.

Shoulder Charge: Melee attack that KOs the target.

Luke Skywalker (Utility Hero)

This hero is for working around the edges and taking out soldier / hero combos. This hero is weak against Emperor Palpatine.

Deflect Blaster: A practical application of the skill with the saber that Luke was working on when he wore the pilot helmet - visor down - and practiced against the laser ball with his saber. In this case you use LT to block and deflect shots from the enemy with your saber - and if your aim is good, actually send their own shots back at them!

Force Push: Luke's less sexy mind control attack.

Heavy Attack: This is like the regular attack, but you know, heavier. It is capable of taking out multiple enemy in one go.

Saber Rush: Cover a significant distance in a brief amount of time and attack at the other end.

Princess Leia (Support Hero)

This heroes opposite is Emperor Palpatine. This is your supporting hero - they not only drop resource tokens your other heroes can use, they were created to fight in congress with your supporting troops (non-hero players). They work best when teamed with your soldiers.

Enhanced Squad Shield: Drops a very large shield that your entire squad can use as a temporary defensive safe area.

Supply Drop: Drop resources that your allies can use.

Trooper Bane: An AOE attack that will take out any troopers who are within its range.

Boba Fett (Attack Hero)

This heroes opposite is Han Solo. This is an attack hero, which means that they do very well on offensive, and can spearhead your strategy and should lead the offensive posture for your team.

Flame Thrower: Allows you to send out a nice hot welcome to nearby enemies.

Rocket Launcher: Allows you to send out a nice hot welcome at distant enemies.

Thruster Pack: Allows for controlled personal flight far in excess of the standard Jump Pack.

Darth Vader (Utility Hero)

This hero is for working around the edges and taking out soldier / hero combos. This hero is weak against Han Solo and combined attacks.

Force Choke: Just like in the movie, Vader reaches out with his mind, picks up the worthless excuse of an enemy, and chokes the life right out of them!

Heavy Attack: This is like the regular attack, but you know, heavier. It is capable of taking out multiple enemy in one go.

Saber Throw: Just what it sounds like- you hurl your saber at the enemy to kill from a moderate distance.

Emperor Palpatine (Support Hero)

This heroes opposite is Princess Leia. This hero is vulnerable from attack by Han Solo. This is your supporting hero - they not only drop resource tokens your other heroes can use, they were created to fight in congress with your supporting troops (non-hero players). They work best when teamed with your soldiers.

Chain Lightning: His signature attack and it cannot be blocked! Woot!

Force Dash: Allows the Emperor to move very quickly for a short distance.

Imperial Resources: Drop resources that your allies can use.

Verdict:
Very Helpful
OK
Not Useful
