Some Frequently Asked Questions - and the answers - from the Supercheat Community on Star Wars Battlefront...

Q. Why is this Star Wars Battlefront and not Star Wars Battlefront 3?

A. According to the folks at EA, the primary reason for that is down to timing. Specifically the massive amount of time that passed between the last game in the series and this one. The idea being that with that kind of gap, you can't just push out a sequel - you have to reboot the series first - and that is what this one is, a reboot of the game that established the series in the first place.

Q. Who do I get to play as?

A. Well that is the good news. While most of the game has you playing as a Trooper / Rebel Soldier, for specific modes you actually get to play as the iconic characters from the original trilogy. That means on the Empire side you get to play as Emperor Palpatine, Darth Vader, and Boba Fett, and on the Rebel side, as Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, and his sister the Princess.

Q. I heard that they only release these games as movie tie-ins?

A. There is actually some truth to that, but not as much as you might think. What we mean by that is that yes, there IS some relationship between the timing of the game release and the newest movie - and there WAS a connection between the last games and movies - but the studio assures us that in this case that is purely serendipity.

What we mean by that is that the wizards at EA assure us that the next game in the series will not require a movie to get released. So hey, win-win?

Q. What does the DLC plan look like?

A. The first DLC to be released for the game is the Battle of Jakku DLC which is connected to the new movie, but we are assured that there will be additional DLC that may or may not be related to the movie. So hey, cool right? Right!

Q. Is Battlefront console only?

A. Nope! While it DOES come for Xbox 1 and PS4, there is also a PC version. About that though - you may find that for the PC version you want to have a rig that sports at least the following specs:

An Intel i5 6600 or better with 16GB RAM running a 64-bit version of Windows 10. You will need at least 40 GB of free hard drive space and at least a nVidia GeForce GTX 970 4GB / AMD Radeon R9 290 4GB or better. Finally you should have DirectX: 11.1 and a reasonably fast Internet connection for the online side.

Q. I keep getting killed quickly on the battle mode maps. What am I doing wrong?

A. The simple answer to this is you are standing still. No, seriously, in this reboot movement is life. You stop, you try to set up a redoubt, or even an ambush point you will quickly end up dead. So try to keep moving as that is how you stay alive!

Q. Walker Assault seems really difficult, is there a trick to it?

A. Actually there is. You need to either attack or protect the uplinks above all other optional actions. Specifically you need to not focus on the skies so much (and you will be tempted). Ignore the icon for a fighter - focus on the uplinks. That is the best way to make the game play move as fast as it is supposed to.

The real secret though is to level up. No, seriously! The higher your level is, the better the support and strategic upgrades you can unlock and use. We are of course speaking of the Cards you unlock for setting up your abilities and items.
