While Star Wars Battlefront contains a selection of single-player Missions for you to work through at various difficulties, its primary focus is really the online, multiplayer modes with which it gets very creative.

Those modes offer a mix of size and game play options, ranging from 12 players to 40 players, and include the bulk of the Achievements that are built into the game.

That said, prior to playing the multiplayer side of SWB we strongly urge you to at least complete the Tutorial and all of the TRAINING Missions - if not the single-player BATTLES and SURVIVAL missions as doing so will give you a decided advantage over players in multiplayer who have not.

The reason for that is largely down to the fact that the Tutorial and the TRAINING Missions cover pretty much all of the skill sets you need to master for the MP side of the game! And hey, you don't want your head handed to you by a bragging 12-year-old just because THEY played through the Training and you did not, right?

The Importance of Rank

So you will no doubt recall how it is embarrassing to be taken out by the 12-year-old who did the TRAINING and tutorial where you did not? We just covered that. Want to know what is even MORE embarrassing? Being taken out by that very same 12-year-old simply because they - unlike you - managed to get to Rank Rank 13 BEFORE you did.

Why is that significant? Well, besides the fact that they will have unlocked the T-21 before you did - and it is a nasty Heavy Blaster and our choice for really messing up the enemy on foot - they will ALSO have unlocked the Jump Pack and you will not.

NOT having the Jump Pack? That is NOT an option for most of the ground-based combat modes and especially the ones where you capture things like Droids or Drop Pods. Why?

The simple answer is that a Jump Pack = mobility. It allows you - when you are skilled at using it - the ability to rapidly move across the battlefield and put yourself AND your weapon where it will do the most good, fastest.

That said then, you should understand that the importance - your focus - early on in play - should be to Rank up as rapidly as you can manage. And the best way to do that is to pick a mode like FIGHTER SQUADRON where you can, if and when you apply yourself, rack up some impressive Rank unlocks in a very short period of time relative to some of the other modes.

So you may want to consider putting in some time in a cockpit so that you HAVE the tools you really NEED to be the best you can be on the battlefield in the OTHER modes. You feeling it? Yeah, you're feeling it!
