Question for Need For Speed: Carbon

For PS3, (or any platform) is there a way to STOP the words that come up in front of my windshield telling me whose territory I have just entered when free roaming? I HATE THAT, and often leads to crashing when driving the faster cars because you can't see whats going on because it's telling me I have entered SO and So's territory (territory controlled by___). Thanks for any help.
