Question for Animal Crossing: Wild World

I know how to catch fish, but sometimes it just doesn't work! I have never caught one of the "biggest" fishes. Is it because you have to upgrade your rod or something?

There is no upgraded bait. You can upgrade your rod but that requires catching all fish first. Just practice, you'll get better...or fish in the rain/snow. That helps lots too.

you can catch bigger fish usually in the ocean, but also there's a couple of really big fish that you can only catch at late night while it's raining. they sell for a lot of bells at tom nook's. i almost caught a fossil fish but i know what it looks like in the water. it's huge and it has a fin on it's back. once it pulls the bobber underwater, you have to be super fast when you reel it in. otherwise it swims away. i don't know anyone that has ever caught a fossil fish, but then again, i only know two other people that play animal crossing. LOL ;)
